After checking in, I was offered welcome tea. Since there were stairs, they helped carry my luggage. The breakfast service was exceptional; they asked how I'd like my eggs cooked and even prepared a takeaway meal for my early departure. They also accompanied me to exchange money. They used a translation app to help with everything, which was incredibly helpful, and I had no issues at all. The room was clean, and complimentary bottled water was provided. I'm also very grateful that they stored my luggage and called a taxi for me. This is definitely a hotel I'd want to stay at again.

The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming. We were offered a welcome tea upon arrival, and a staff member even carried our very heavy luggage up to the third floor, which had no elevator. The hotel's location is excellent, right near the Chinese shops in the Thamel area, making currency exchange very convenient.

I booked an economy room, but perhaps because it was the off-season, I was upgraded to a higher-category room. The room was spacious and clean, and I was very satisfied. However, it was a twin room, and the beds were small, making me feel like I might fall off if I tossed and turned, so I couldn't sleep well. The next day, I was moved to a double bed room. I suspect this double room was probably the original economy room, so here are some points to consider: * The room is reasonably spacious, but with a table and chairs, you'll need to move furniture around or get creative to open a suitcase. * The bathroom has no window or extractor fan, so the humidity after a shower lingers for a long time. (The room I stayed in on the first night had a window in the bathroom). * There was a window in the room, so after showering, I opened both the room window and the entrance door to ventilate (it seemed like some rooms might not have any windows at all). * Even with ventilation, the bathroom humidity didn't completely clear, and towels hung to dry in the bathroom wouldn't dry. * If humidity bothers you, it might be a good idea to request a room with a bathroom window when booking. Regarding other facilities: * The front desk staff and other young male staff were all incredibly friendly, making me feel happy to be in Nepal. * There's no elevator, but they were happy to help with luggage during check-in/check-out and never demanded unnecessary tips. * (When checking out, I was carrying my own suitcase down the stairs, and they seemed to notice the sound, ran up the stairs, and carried the suitcase for me instead). * Even without luggage, climbing to the 4th or 5th floor can be quite tiring, but fortunately, there's a restroom next to the front desk, so you can use the toilet without needing to climb stairs. * The shower provides hot water, but the water pressure is a bit weak (it takes quite a while for the water to get hot. Drainage, however, is perfectly fine). * The location is almost in the center of Thamel, but being set back one street, it's less noisy, and I could enjoy a quiet stay (this might also be due to the off-season). * The hotel's name sounds like a guesthouse, but it's a proper hotel. I checked out a few similar-priced hotels nearby for comparison, and this hotel seemed to offer the best value for money. *The attached photo is of the upgraded room I was given on the first night.

Great comfortable and relaxing 3 night stay at Hotel Friends home in the center of Thamel, on a quiet street near many restaurants and amenities. I recommend this as a place to stay to relax and enjoy large and comfortable rooms.

I use this hotel every time I visit Kathmandu. It's relatively quiet as it's set back from the main street. I frequently visited the Thakali restaurant across the street; the food was delicious and they had a good selection of drinks. There's no elevator, so if you're on the 4th floor, the climb might be a bit tough. The room amenities were complete, and the shower was good. Breakfast can be had on the ground floor or on the rooftop. The breakfast included with the room booking offers a choice of two menus. Cereal, yogurt, milk, and bananas are available for self-service. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. You can store your luggage here while trekking.

This was an absolutely fantastic stay! The two young boys working there were incredibly enthusiastic and hardworking. This has to be the most satisfying hotel experience I've had in Nepal.

Great place to stay! The staff are really nice and helpful. They even offer luggage storage, and there's always someone at the front desk no matter how late you check in. I stayed here every night I was in Kathmandu, and even came back after my trip to Pokhara. Highly recommend!

Lovely place to stay, great attentive staff. Nice breakfast. Room was a little dated and had a small water leak, which was addressed as soon as we notified the trakm For the price it was a great stay!
