I had a wonderful 5-day stay at this hotel during my trip from Bangladesh. Everything was perfect, and the service was excellent. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Nepal!

Cons -the pics shown the hotel are highly misleading -moldy bathrooms -common area way worse than than advertised -funky smell inside the room -windows are facing the hallway and not outside Pros -good breakfast -mostly nice staff We checked in and had to change the room immediately because the bathroom was full of black mold. Confronting them, they gave us a different room without hesitation. That room was less worse but still…improvable. They told us that they have better rooms but they’re fully booked. (They’re available online and we saw that they’re empty over night but anyways). We left the place earlier than expected and the refund was done easily. Overall the staff was nice and I understand that they’re renovating this place but nevertheless the rooms are not in a condition to rent out with that amount of mold. And we booked the place also because the common area and the rooftop looked so good, but… they weren’t…

It's freezing cold in the room but if you are planning to go on trekking it's going to be a great advantage to train yourself! Amenities are great! You can boil water in your room to make your own tea or you can drink what they provide. And you can go up to the rooftop for the great view and to dry your laundries. The staff are nice and they speak good English. Good value.

I think the best quality of this hotel is the service which was perfect . They were sooo nice and welcoming. Booked an early airport drop off for me in a reasonable price and packed my breakfast for the flight! (Which btw is included in the price of the room. The room comes with shampoo, toothbrush and paste, enough water, coffee and tea and there's a kettle. I only needed one night and for that it was good, but! 🙏 If you want a clean room, that is the weak spot of the place The room was not clean, there were stains and hairs on the bad (not mine) And there's a wall-to-wall carpet which is old and dirty So I'm having mix feeling in this review. Overall, I recommend for short term stays :)

I dont like the hotel nither servises. When i rich the the receptionist told me that i don have a reservation after a while he ask me to chek if i am at the reservation list from his compiter and i found my name by myself. Witout excuise they took me a room wich was without window even i pay as king bad privet single room. There wasnt hot water at the room but i was so tired i slept one night there . Next day i srarted to scraching on my skin becauss of humidity and there was mikes on the bad. They told no problem they can change the room but it was a huge problem. I have been changed my room next day they told me the room that i reserved was ocupide and they couldent give it to me. The stay was totaly disappaintment for me. I didint like servises the receptionist at all.

You probably can't stay here without your own disposable toiletries. I don't know about other places, but the wooden windows offer zero soundproofing. There's a big white dog downstairs and crows in the morning. All in all, the price and the room are acceptable. The cleaning staff are very diligent, and the housekeeper is also quite good; the service is fine, they'll even help you with your luggage. It's just that the hygiene standards are completely different from what you'd find in China, so you absolutely must bring your own disposable bedding. There's no hairdryer, so bring your own, and disposable towels too, if you want them.

Awesome! Very very satisfied with our stay at Pomelo. There’s location is great, we are just a few minutes walk from Thamel, 20 minutes walk from Sayambhu, 10 minutes taxi from Balaju… Now the service, it was the best part in the inn, the staff is really very friendly and accommodating, thank you Gyanu and Kamal who helped us for everything during our stay. We booked two rooms as a family, but we got one big family room with separated rooms, the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was big and proper to use. The breakfast is the best one we had in Kathmandu, fresh and simple. There is a rooftop, from where we took a bowl of air in the evenings and mornings, really nice.

It was my second stay (1 night) at Pomelo Hotel, and as much as we enjoyed it, last September, this time was a real disappointment. The staff was as friendly and helpful as ever, booking my bus ticket for the next morning and giving me all relevant information despite the very late hour. However, I got a smokers room, disgusting for a non smoker. The young man sprayed the room, which made the smell bearable. The room was so cold that I didn't sleep at all despite the warm duvet, no heater provided. No hot water either, no matter how long I waited (the staff told me to run the water for 5 minutes). All in all, I don't recommend it at this time of the year as the hotel is not equipped for comfort in the cold season.

Very gross. Black mold on the ceiling, walls, doors and just about everywhere. The mattress had no padding left, it felt like you were laying straight on the springs. Linen was old ad hadna holen in it. The door to the room didn't lock properly. I had my suitcase against the door to keep it shut of a night time. The male staff were lovely and helpful but that is the only good thing about this place.
