Southmoreland on the Plaza an Urban Inn

The property has no one on site, so if you need anything there is no one. Its like a house share, but upscale- you are sharing a house with strangers. There was no hot water for tea. Our outlets in our room didn't work- we tried the switches on the wall. Otherwise it is beautiful place comfy beds, clean and interesting.

This property was absolutely gorgeous and such a welcome alternative to a traditional hotel. The room was clean with inviting decor and cozy ambiance. Other than the occasional charming creaks of the wooden floors, we would have thought we were the only guests. We were given a door access code prior to arrival that allowed entry to the two main property entrances as well as our room which eliminated a formal check-in/out process. I would definitely recommend this property as a place for a memorable stay!

I stayed here two nights and it was super comfortable. I lived in a provided bathrobe basically the entire time I was on the property. It’s definitely quiet and for quiet guests as it’s an older property. I really enjoyed the charm and especially the proximity to the Nelson Atkins museum. My room had an adorable wood burning fireplace that is available for guest use but I opted for the radiator space heater that was in the closet. I was travelling alone and I mostly kept to myself but there are multiple indoor and outdoor common areas that you can use. The property is well maintained and I would absolutely stay here again.

Location is great but the room was very small. Nice stay for one night but I don’t think I’d like a long stay there.

We really enjoyed our stay. Safe and quiet neighborhood. Bottled water, ice, and fresh coffee were readily available. They had a wonderful kitchen which you could use to heat up food if needed. Breakfast was simple but delicious. Beautiful patio and lots of places to sit and visit. Very clean and well kept rooms and grounds! Would highly recommend and stay here again if we come to town.
