The Westin Kansas City at Crown Center

The Westin Kansas City at Crown Center is a wonderful hotel! We traveled from Hawaii and was greeted with plenty ALOHA! The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially the bell desk worker (who's been there for over 40 years) was very welcoming :) The hotel is clean with cute local shops and places to eat, and the beds are super comfy! We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip.

Decent stay, clean, good staff. The gym wasn't well maintained when i was there, no cups to drink from, overflowing towel baskets, otherwise good. Didn't use the bar or restaurant so I can't judge the food or drinks.

We loved the pool and hot tub. We also found it convenient to walk over to Crown Center and Union Station to go to Science City. We also really appreciated the streetcar stop, which we used all weekend to go to various other parts of the city.

The Westin Hotel in Kansas City was great Convenient to Amtrak and well situated. It has to be good because it's associated with Hallmark and Hallmark' s motto is " when you care enough to send the very best."

Really just the only choice to stay in Kansas City. Why? Well, the hotel is quite perfect in quality and cleanliness. The rooms are very large. The rooms are very quiet. The hotel is built into the side of mountain rock where the natural rock is actually the hotel wall; along with a waterfall inside as well, of course. There is an entire inside "mall" attached to the hotel (through one flight of stairs) where many different stores offer shopping with multiple themes. There are a few choices for morning coffee just steps from your room. There is a nicely appointed bar in the lobby for coffee in the morning and also drinks at night. Yet above all of this "basic stuff", there are 4 enclosed pathways from the hotel, extending over the streets to Union Train Station, Hallmark Cards, and other shops that are great in general, but excellent in case of any bad weather. Last and maybe most important, is the location. The FREE Kansas City Streetcar is right there and can take you to Westport, Country Club Plaza, Union Station, or even north to the River Front. THAT benefit cannot be stressed enough!! You will see 75% of Kansas City offerings to tourists via this streetcar, and not pay a dime for it! Stores, Restaurants, Clubs, Bars and Entertainment are all very plentiful because of this streetcar addition. So when you look at the COST for staying at The Crown Center Hotel, you MUST stop to consider that if you save a few bucks, your stay will drop from an A+ do a C- as a consequence.

14$ Per day for WIFI?! It tells me a lot about this hotel: Nothing special - overpriced- boring.

Fantastic front desk staff! They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, memorable and enjoyable.

The staff is excellent, the front desk and the bellman were a blast from the past at the excellent service you come to expect from a Westin. Where it fell short wet the amenities which I’ve been accustomed to in my previous stays. It’s a little thing, but when you pay $400 for a hotel room you expect better than 1 ply toilet paper. Their beds are still the best in the business though. Make sure you bring a step stool if you are shorter than 5’2”. The biggest “miss” was the food service. I’m not expecting a free breakfast, but it’s odd to not at least find an option for a buffet style breakfast. I would have paid for it, but I wasn’t going to bring my family to sit down for an eclectic à la cart breakfast at 7:30am. So we went to Panera across the street and waited an hour for our food there (yikes.) It was clean, safe, and hospitable. If this was a Hampton or Holiday Inn I would give it five stars, but for the price and reputation is was a bit of a miss. We’ll be back this summer, but probably with different expectations.
