We stayed at the Killarney Towers for 2 nights beginning on August 28, 2024, Room 145. The first night was fine but on the second night, we had just returned from dinner at around 8:30pm when the band in the hotel bar started playing. Holy Lord the commotion that followed! Our room was shaking, the drapes were swaying, the TV was bouncing and our beds were sliding around the room from the thunderous clamor from below our room. My wife and I could not concentrate to read, watch TV or even talk to one another. I called the front desk and was told that the band would be playing until 11:30. I asked if we could move to another room but was told they were completely full and there were no other rooms available. By 9:30PM, we had tried using ear plugs and a sound machine to drown out the sounds of “Rocky Top” among other tunes coming from below our room at ear splitting volume but there was no escape from that constant din. With my wife in tears, I went down to the lobby to see if there was anything they could do. The clerk called the manager who came down to talk to me in the lobby. By the way, the music was just as thunderously loud in the hotel lobby. I asked the manager if we could change rooms or if he could help us find another hotel. He said the hotel was full and so were all of the other hotels in town. In other words, tough luck. He did offer to buy me a drink. I declined the offer but I told him that I wanted a refund for the night’s stay. He said he would try to get them to turn down the bass. I left and went back to my Dungeon of Horror, room 145 at the Killarney Towers. The music and the loud bass finally ended at 11:30pm but by then we were both so aggravated by the situation that it was difficult to get any rest at all. We have never had a more miserable experience at a hotel than at the Killarney Towers in Killarney.

Expensive mistake. We were very disappointed on entering our room to find that the only window in the room was frosted and barely opened so the room was very claustrophobic. There was also a continuous loud droning noise from 5pm till after 10:30pm every night and there was very little sound insulation so conversations and any noise from the corridor, upstairs and neighbouring rooms could be heard clearly. When we complained the front desk staff were aware of all these issues but had no solution apart from saying the ventilator droning noise would stop at about 10pm. Finally the breakfast was a boxed breakfast left outside the room each morning at 7am.

Staying in a 4 star hotel we were expecting breakfast but instead they dropped breakfast in a box outside the door. A proper breakfast was another 30 euro per couple. Very loud extractor fan buzzing all night outside our window too. When we told reception at checkout we were told they would make a note of it. After reading reviews im pretty sure they are well aware of the problem.

Awful experience. We were told 4 o clock check in. We arrived at 4 and asked to check in and they told us our room wasn’t ready yet. In my opinion if 4 o clock is check in time, the rooms should be ready for half 3. I think it’s an utter disgrace. An hour later still waiting for the room. I will not be back

Wonderful renovated industrial type room within a resort. Hotel 76 is 12 renovated original rooms from the hotel. This is within a huge resort, so we have all the amenities of the resort. The resort caters to tour groups. The highlight is the great breakfast box dropped off at your door in the morning. We had this on the road and kept us through the day.

We were very pleasantly surprised when we entered the hotel room. The room was very modern and urban and yet it contained everything you need for a great hotel stay. We had a very nice view of a meadow where you could watch the deer grazing in the morning! The bed was very comfortable and also invited you to relax, especially if you were out all day. There is also a very large TV in the room and even a coffee maker and kettle to make your coffee or tea! The bathroom is also very spacious, modern and clean, which made us quite happy. We asked at the reception for tips and a receptionist called Diana was incredibly nice and patient as well, she helped us so much with the planning of our stay. The town is not that far away by foot, if you don't want to walk you can also take the shuttle bus from the hotel or take a tour on the Red Bus to see all the attractions like Muckross House, Ross Castle or Torc Waterfall. You can buy a ticket in advance at the reception and the bus even stops right in front of the hotel! If you don't want to do the typical tourist things, there is plenty of stuff to do in the hotel itself - there is a bar with live music and other entertainment or even a pool! The absolute highlight was the continental breakfast, which is delivered in a box to the door every morning. It includes things like yoghurt, orange juice, croissant, oats and fruit salad - a perfect way to start the day. All in all, it was a great stay - not only the room and the extras, but also the hotel staff were super friendly and did everything to make you feel at home!

Best hotel stay so far. Apart from the brilliant entertainment we had pre booked, this hotel exceeded our expectations. The delivery of a continental breakfast to our door was a fantastic touch! A birthday card and a box of chocolates for my husband were waiting for him in the room - I hadn’t asked for this so it was a lovely surprise. I had mentioned to the girl I booked with weeks before that it was my hubby’s birthday so I guess she made a note of that and arranged it. Such a thoughtful gesture. Also, we had arranged to meet up with my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary as they were staying nearby and the restaurant staff went above and beyond to make a big fuss of them that evening, it was so lovely and very much appreciated , they brought out the cake I had hidden with them earlier and then brought out a decorated plate of sweet treats afterwards too, fantastic surprise and it made Mum and Dad’s day to be fussed over. Every single staff member was helpful, pleasant and friendly. No matter how busy they were always efficient and polite. The food was amazing and the range of choices to eat or drink either in peace or a bustling environment was amazing. Our room was modern and yet so cosy, loved the rainfall shower. We were so impressed and delighted that we booked again before we even left for our own anniversary in August. Highly recommend this stay 😊

Hotel 67 is very comfortable and accommodating. Know the rooms are small. Very fresh and up to date. Numerous amenities throughout the Gleneagle property. Close walk to downtown and Killarney National Park. Only complaint was an alarm that went off two nights in a row. But the alarm has purpose, right?
