I staggered into Rose and Paul’s exhausted after a day travelling and volunteering at HARS Aircraft Museum in Albion Park ( Historic Aircraft Restoration Society). I found a immaculate divine oasis which importantly for us coffee nazis has a Breville coffee maker! Wow! I was made very welcome and was resuscitated in one of their wonderful rooms. Sadly I only stayed overnight but will definitely be back when I can! Simply divine accomodation. Don’t miss the opportunity to stay here and remember to build in a trip to HARS where you will also be made very welcome. A VIP tour for $200 a head is the best value for a day out in the world ( a maximum of 4 VIPs only per day). Crawl all over the historic 747 OJA which completed the only direct London to Sydney flight in 1989. You will spend the day with a former flight crew understanding to cockpit, an engineer who goes over the aircraft with you ( and yes you literally crawl in the various spaces), followed by a former cabin staff member ( on this occasion a former flight hostess) to walk you down memory lane of your trips on these wonderful aircraft. Then you also get a tour of the whole museum which includes the Southern Cross replica and the fabulous Constellation ( lunch at the Connie cafe). Consider a pic in the Queen’s seat on the Dakota that flew her on the RAAF legs of her 1954 tour. My uncle Jack Cornish was the pilot of the aorcraft and your support for HARS will mean they can get her flying. At the moment they are concentrating on getting John Travolta’s 707 across from the US but they will get her flying in their Dakota fleet. Come and stay with Rose and Paul and they will suggest other wonderful options. PS Add your picture of you in the Queen’s seat!
