Tanini Kinabatangan (Formerly known as Nature Lodge Kinabatangan)

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in! The atmosphere is amazing. The crew ❤️ they took so much care about us. The food was great too. Looking forward to come again.

We were picked up from Sandakan airport and then visited the orangutan sanctuary and were and to watch both youngsters and adult orangutans having breakfast. We also visited the sun bear sanctuary. After a lovely buffet lunch we were driven up to the eco lodge. On arrival we had a snack and were given an informative talk about the animals and conservation efforts. We had two hours on the river and saw elephants, monkeys,crocodiles and many birds. After dinner we had a night Jungle trek to see insects of the area. Very beautiful and also very big!! The next morning we had an early tour in the river and again saw many animals. We then departed and traveled back to visit the rainforest discovery centre and skywalk through the jungle canopy. Zali (our fabulous guide) then dropped us back at the airport for our flight. A wonderful couple of days filled with interesting sights and great people.

The overall service was good, the staff are polite and friendly. Very attentive to our needs. Our guide Chong shows a personal interest in making sure we don’t miss out any wild live encountered. The management was fast to respond when we reported an issue with our room shower door and a broken walkway plank. It was immediately attended to and replaced before our return from our river cruise. Thanks to the entire team for making our stay a memorable one. The food served was adequate and tasty. Special thanks to the cook who came over to chat with us on two occasions.

A great escapade away from urban hustle. This is good getaway into the fringe of the forest next to the Kinabatangan river. Very accessible after the slightly inclined wooden ramp with room perched on board walks without steps. We stay in the deluxe rooms that is expansive with great views into the forest just beside the private balcony. Plenty of wildlife, esp birds to sight. The room are well furnished and clean. Very comfortable and relaxing. Generally, very quiet and peaceful throughout the night. The staff is attentive and very friendly. Amazing beef stew, fish and with many other spread. Delicious almost home cook style dinner and lunch.

Initially I booked a 3D2N package but ended up staying 5 nights at this place cause I genuinely think it was one of the best places I ever stayed in my life. Everyone at this place is so kind and helpful. Haven’t had a single problem during my stay. Thank you to my amazing tour guide , Mohammed who was honestly the best guide I could’ve asked for. He was able to find all the big 5 + we were lucky enough to see a whole herd of Elephants (around 70) crossing the river . One of the best things I have experienced in my whole life. Unbelievable. Thank you Mohammed you were amazing!❤️ People working there are really professional and attentive. The girls at the reception were able to give all the informations and details really fast and they were so kind and always smiling. Thank you girls ❤️ Thank you also to all the people that clean, cook (THE FOOD WAS AMAZING) The buffet had a lot of choices I highly recommend this place to everyone I miss this place already Thank you for everything See you soon Elia
