"My first Ryokan experience and it was great. Beautiful interior, good location to walk some parts of the Nakasendo trail, lovely traditional Japanese food, nice onsen and very kind people. They do their utmost to make you feel comfortable. The hotel has been owned by the same family for ages. Highly recommended."

"Not knowing what exactly I had booked, I was thoroughly impressed with what we got at the end of our hike. What the hotel offered for hikers is absolutely perfect. The dinner and breakfast buffet were amazing. There was definitely enough food to keep us satisfied. The buffet trolleys were a fantastic addition. Size of room was great and loved the configuration. Choosing our own yukata was fun. I didn’t use the onsen but happy they had massage chairs on offer as an alternative."

"room cleaning There are non-smoking rooms Reasonable price There is a bath/soup available free parking The only drawback is that the vibration in the computer room is so strong that it wakes me up in the middle of the night. I can't hear the sound in the computer room, but I can feel the frequency of the vibration when I put my ear against the pillow, so I don't sleep well."

"You need a car to access the place but we walk and made it ! The hotel offered us the shuttle to the bus stop the next day. Food was goid but not enough after a full day hiking. Very clean and comfortable"

"The property is located just opposite the train station. We arrived at 9:30 am, did the check-in procedure, and then left luggage there so that we were luggage-free when we went on hiking on one of the section of the Nakasendo. We did not have to explain, the host simply accepted our luggage gracefully. The breakfast and dinner were delicious. The host and staff were very polite and helpful. Some of the staff spoke very good English and explained to us the different types of sauces for each dish. I think the facilities could be made better with some simple adjustments. The room was a bit small, we knew that when we made booking. However, I think the room could be more roomly if not so many furnitures were put in the room. The public bath room was small. If someone is having a shower, the water could easily splash into the bath water and persons sitting in the bath. I suggest the host to change the male and female baths into 2 private baths, allowing prior booking each time for 40 min. Booking can easily be done by self-service. With these minor adjustments, the stay could be more enjoyable."

"Kiso County is famous for its lacquerware. The boutique resort ”Kazato” opened in the village faces the Ontake volcano. It is a 400-year-old family business. The owner has 8 employees who perform multiple duties to run the farm and 20 guest rooms. You can take a walk along the forest trail behind the house to the horse farm, and ride along the main road. Along the way, there are wooden fences and tiled houses surrounded by green mountains, and the fragrance of soil, grass, and unknown flowers. You can breathe in the purest flavor of nature. The hotel meals are exquisite and delicious. The sushi for dinner is made in front of you, and the Japanese omelette for breakfast is also made in advance. The room with private bath is equipped with a full set of Pola skin care products. There is a self-service wine and dessert bar in the lobby, and even red wine is provided. You can also heat the annual ring cake by hand. One of the employees, a young man from Wuhan, is enthusiastic, interesting and thoughtful, which added a lot of good memories to this stay."
