Ciala Resort Hotels in Kisumu

Beautiful, park like grounds with spacious, lovely rooms. But the area where it was located was not very nice, the food was not very good and it took an hour to arrive at the table (although the staff were very nice)

We had a wonderful experience in your hotel. Your staff are amazing my elderly parents were extremely comfortable with your staff. They celebrated their Diamond, 60 years anniversary here and it was worth it. We appreciate your staff especially Pauline Ojijo, Vincent Wadende, Mercy Chumba. Buvon, Peris list is endless. Thank you all we had fun.

The service especially for the front desk was rigid. We requested late check out for 6 rooms ans were denied. Pauline the manager was very rude and even hang up on us. They couldn't even allow an hour. Secondly room service is overated. A small bowl of fries is 300sh with no salad and takes over an hour to deliver The shower in room 408 does not come out well. The beds have to mattresses that make sleeping very uncomfortable and the mattresses are hard. I would say for a hotel with good ambience, its overrated considering the high cost charged for accommodation. I highly recommend other hotels in Kisumu that I have had better service and comfort [ forward, acacia, sovereign, dessert rose and grand Swiss royal] over this hotel. Very bad service. 👎

The location is super cool. Lovely conference services. The staff are professional...thanks to May Beryl and Stanley Ombewa. They served us with utmost hospitality. Asante sana Ciala. I recommend others to visit the great heaven in Kisumu Dala called Ciala

Tom and Tonny were a five out of five! He made us feel super comfortable and was so good at welcoming our whole group from habitat aid initiative. We spent about three days here and the service was great, food was phenomenal (shout out Chefs Alice and Benbella), and accommodations were more than satisfactory!

I had the pleasure of staying at Ciala Resort with a mission team from Bethlehem Baptist Church, and I cannot say enough about the experience. From start to finish, the level of service, care, and attention to detail was exceptional. A special thank you to Mercy, who went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly for our group. Her kindness, professionalism, and willingness to assist made a lasting impression on all of us. The entire team at Ciala Resort created an environment that was welcoming, peaceful, and well organized, which allowed us to fully focus on the purpose of our trip while also enjoying a beautiful and comfortable stay. We are incredibly grateful and will absolutely be returning in the future as we begin planning for our next mission trip. Highly recommend.

I’ve been to Kenya several times the last eight years, and very often I visit the lovely western parts of Kenya; Ugenya to be more spesific. This was the first time I spend time at Ciala Resort, and it will not be the last time! I first brought some familymembers for a one-night stay before we’re headed for the village. The location of Ciala is 10/10, the rooms are great and the outdoor-surroundings are fantastic. BUT, the best part of Ciala is the people working there! We were so nicely taken care of, that it was a no-brainer to book another three-nights stay for a new group of norwegians the following week! With twenty minutes to the lake, two hours to Bar ober, Ugenya, and a staff meeting is with smiles every single day, Ciala has become one of my absolutely fav places to stay while in Kenya! The group loved their stay at your beautiful place! Asante sana for this time, and I’m looking forward to bring more norwegians to your beautiful resort!

The place is very beautiful but has terrible customer service. The staff are extremely rude especially mercy at the reception area. The food is not good either .

I booked our stay at the Ciala Resort online on 28 December 2025 (for 3 nights from 14–17 February 2026) and paid a deposit of USD 135. Unfortunately, I had to cancel our stay on 15 January 2026 due to a change in our travel plans. The deposit has not been refunded to me, despite the fact that I have sent three emails regarding this matter. Ciala Resort has not replied to any of my emails.
