"Cute and welcoming hotel!! We arrived very late after a long drive and the owner waited for us to greet us and check us in, and even upgraded us which was a real treat! The room itself was very spacious and equipped with everything, there was a bathtub and shower, and also a small porch. Bed was comfortable. The only problem is that it’s a bit far from the old town and the main attractions in the city, but we definitely recommend if you like staying in a quiet area and have a car!"

"The hotel is well-equipped with excellent facilities, and its location is incredibly convenient. It's just a short taxi ride (minimum fare) to the ancient city, or you can walk there if you're not affected by altitude sickness. Staying two nights includes pick-up and drop-off service, and the manager is fantastic, even helping with luggage. For someone like me who's prone to altitude sickness and low oxygen, having an oxygen concentrator in the room was a godsend at night. Since we were heading to Meili Snow Mountain the next day and had to leave at 4 AM, before breakfast hours, the manager thoughtfully replaced our breakfast with portable milk, bread, and fruit, preparing it the night before for us to take on the road. On check-out day, as we had a few more sights to visit and wouldn't return to the hotel until around 2 PM, they allowed us to check out in the morning and store our luggage for free. They even offered to drive us to the train station when we returned, which was incredibly thoughtful service. Additionally, the breakfast on the second day was exquisite and delicious, with a good variety including corn, small bread rolls, eggs, and rice noodles. However, there was a bun that I wasn't sure if it was yak meat-filled; its taste was a bit odd, and I couldn't get used to it."

"This beautiful guesthouse is super, super close to the North Gate of Dukezong Ancient City. You just turn left out of the guesthouse, and it's about a hundred steps away, and it's not a cobblestone path. They offer pick-up and drop-off service from the train station. The owner is very welcoming and great at conversation. I'm a bit introverted, so I didn't ask ahead of time about fun places to visit in the area, and only learned about them from the owner when I was leaving Shangri-La. On our first night, we stayed in a twin room, and I have to mention, that chair was genuinely comfortable! The room has an oxygen concentrator, which is an absolute must for anyone experiencing altitude sickness; make sure to use it every night. I didn't use it the first two nights and barely slept well, but on the third night, I set it to run while I slept and had a great night's rest. The room is clean and tidy, and they clean it daily and replenish disposable toiletries. There's also a combined washer and dryer, so you don't have to worry about clothes not drying – that dryer is so effective you won't need to hang them out at all. If I ever come back, it'll be many years from now, but I hope the owner's name hasn't changed so I can still find this place in my booking history."

The room is equipped with a smart home assistant that can be controlled by voice (in Chinese), which adds a modern and convenient touch. Key highlights include: • Heated floors, perfect for cold weather • Heated bathroom and smart toilet, helping me stay warm and comfortable • Projector in the room for entertainment • Spacious and airy room layout All of these features made it very easy to avoid the cold and truly relax. ⸻ 4. "A perfect experience! The Indigo Diqing Moonlight City is worth countless re-visits! Of all the surprises during my trip to Shangri-La, choosing the Indigo Diqing Moonlight City hotel was the best. From pre-arrival communication to check-out, I was treated with such care and attention, making the entire experience absolutely outstanding! Before departing, I called the hotel to inquire about my itinerary. Emma, the person who answered the phone, patiently addressed all my questions. The communication was smooth and thoughtful. The hotel even upgraded my room directly! Stepping into the room, I was instantly amazed – exquisite Tibetan-style decor was everywhere. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows and private balcony overlooked the highest point of Dukezong Ancient Town. I could lie in bed and take in a panoramic view of the entire ancient town, with the Big Buddha Temple and prayer wheel in Guishan Park clearly visible. In the distance, I could even catch a glimpse of the plateau mountains. At sunset, the light and shadows cast over the rooftops of the ancient town made every photo wallpaper-worthy. The hotel's location is also impeccable, situated in the core area of the ancient town. A few minutes' walk brings you into the ancient town's streets, and you can return to the hotel to rest anytime you get tired from exploring. It's also very convenient to reach attractions like Songzanlin Monastery and Pudacuo. The hotel's shuttle service was always available when called, and it was easy to get a taxi or drive yourself, so I didn't have to worry about transportation at all. I also want to thank the staff, especially the front desk attendant (name unknown) and Emma, whose warmth and attentiveness made my trip feel extra special. The attendant explained the hotel facilities and local sightseeing tips in detail during check-in. At check-out, Emma was all smiles and incredibly friendly. Whether it was asking about changing my airport transfer time, modifying a booking, or storing luggage, they responded quickly, even proactively offering a small souvenir fridge magnet. The professionalism and thoughtfulness were evident in every detail. From the Tibetan-inspired room design and unbeatable views to the convenient transportation and warm service, this hotel met all my expectations for accommodation in Shangri-La. The next time I come to Shangri-La, I will definitely choose this place again, and I highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip there!"

"This was, without a doubt, the best B&B we stayed at during our trip. It's conveniently located within Dukezong Ancient Town, making it easy to get around. The B&B's decor is elegant and grand, and the rooms are clean and cozy. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, and they provided disposable towels and bath towels of excellent quality, which was a nice reassurance. The owner, a very kind gentleman, provided excellent service. He arranged to pick us up from the high-speed rail station in advance, and when my husband injured his leg, he proactively offered to drop us off at the station when we left – we are incredibly grateful! I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Shangri-La; you won't regret choosing it!"

"The hotel's decor is really nice, and the staff are very friendly. The owner even drove us to the bus station. The room design is exquisite, and there's a rooftop terrace. It's a shame I discovered it too late; it would have been great for photos in the evening. The only truly unpleasant experience wasn't at the hotel itself, but related to the Thangka painting experience they offered. I got a voucher from the front desk, and when I went to the experience shop, the staff there said registration would take 2 hours. I told them I wouldn't have enough time and would skip it. At the same time, I just turned around to see what other people in the shop were doing – it looked like they were all stamping something. The receptionist there had an absolutely terrible attitude; she said I couldn't look or go in. I found this very strange, as I explained I was just looking and was still in the main hall. She insisted I had to wait for someone to explain it to me. So, at that moment, I couldn't even move, and she just kept talking at me, while I simply wanted to see what people were stamping. I was truly speechless by that level of service!"

"First off, the location is excellent! You can walk to the old town, making it super convenient to get around everywhere. The facilities are also very comprehensive, and the hygiene is top-notch. The bed was incredibly soft. There's even a pool table in the common area and a dedicated vanity room for women, among other things – it feels really cozy here. The restaurant on the first floor is lovely; you can gather around the fireplace, which is so warm. I even made some friends here, everyone was so nice. Hope to see you all again next time I'm in Shangri-La!"

"This is the best homestay in my trip to Yunnan. Had booked 2 rooms for my family and I understand from the staff is that these are the best 2 rooms in their property. Location is at the mid hill so can oversee the whole Old Town. Very spectacular view. Location is less 10min from the Giant Prayer Wheel. Staff had help with luggage on our arrival and they also provided transfer to the train station on our departure. We have welcome snacks on the day of arrival. Every day when we came back to the room, the staff had offered hot ginger tea to warm us from the cold. The best thing is the heated floor which feels so good during the winter weather. As we had stayed over the Xmas seasons, we were very surprised by the small gifts given. There are so many good things to say about this property but writing this does not provide justice to them. Would highly recommend travelers to book this property and feel it in real life."

"The room is so spacious and bright, with central air conditioning and heating. Although the facilities are a little old, they are very clean. The toiletries provided are also good. The rice noodles for breakfast are the best I have ever eaten in hotels in Xiangxi, Guizhou, Banna and Dali. The location is good, and it is very convenient for shopping and eating nearby. The price is perfect!"
