This is possibly the best hotel I have ever stayed in!!! The staff and cottages were amazing!!! Let's start with the (only small) negatives... the cottages are a little remote from Knysna centre so you are reliant on using Uber. There is a wonderful on-site pub, but it stops serving food quite early. Plus it is hard to get cars back after 10pm at night. Therefore, some people may be better off staying more centrally. HOWEVER, nowhere else will match the beauty and tranquility of these cottages! The perfect place to relax! Stock up from a supermarket and build a new home!

Clean, quiet with a nice pool and good pub. Our cottage was over 2 floors and very clean and spacious. Perfect 5 days with our daughter (5).

It is just a shame this property with the most delightful setting is spoiled by the poor supervision of management. The breakfast offering was extremely poor and the service was shabby. There was not attention to detail to make this stay exceptional and I unfortunately cannot recommend this property

What a beautiful location and wonderful gardens, what a pity that there appears to be a serious lack of management. This was not our first stay at this property and what a visible drop in standards. Our breakfast service was just above appalling, and absolutely no management seen during our stay. The Bell ,however, was a highlight with good value Pub food and friendly service. But again on our 2 visits to the pub never saw a manager. There appears to be nobody looking at the detail and oversight that one would expect at this establishment Hopefully they will improve.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The property offers a stunning view of Knysna and the lagoon. There is also a bistro and a lovely pool on the property. Highly recommended.

Could not have been nicer - like going back to colonial days, but all was fresh. Good accommodations and wonderful breakfast. What impressed me the most was that we had to leave early in the morning after the second night (but before breakfast would be served) and they gave us a takeaway breakfast the night before that was outstanding - who goes that extra mile in this day and age? Could not recfommend this place more highly.

A magic place , in an amazing area , great atmosphere, All details are were finished and when you arrive you feel to stay at home The welcome of Nolene was great and she helped us to have a gentle introduction in this iconic place who reminds us to a fascinating past Unfortunately we stayed only one night , too little to enjoy this place but enough to fell in love with it
