Artisan Koh YAO Yai

Absolutely fell in love with this place. Walking in feels like stepping into a novel, a parallel universe. The grounds are huge and fun to explore, with plenty of hidden nooks and crannies to discover. The rooms are modern, super comfortable and clean, and I really appreciated being able to choose how often I wanted housekeeping. The lobby serves great coffee and smoothies—and I can’t forget to mention the focaccia, which I ended up having every single day! A quick tip: renting a motorbike or sidecar is a must, as there is no Grab (ride-hailing app) on the island. The staff also offers transportation to the pier, which was much more reasonably priced than the taxis we were quoted upon arrival. Highly recommend this charming, quaint, and artistically stunning place. Hope to visit again! 😍

Artisan is quite different from anywhere we’d stayed before - it’s quite new but feels like an old resort being slowly taken over by nature. We enjoyed exploring all the thoughtfully curated common areas, sunsets by the pool, watching birds from the balcony, playing with the cats. Located in a little village with a couple of small local restaurants it’s right by the sea, although the beach is mud and rock so not for swimming or sunbathing. Riding a motorbike is pretty much essential for getting around the island and there are a couple of good restaurants a short ride in each direction. Contact with the staff is mostly through WhatsApp or Line, but they were lovely and helped us with everything we needed including renting a bike and transfers. If you’re looking for a classic Thai resort where you’re waited on constantly then this might not be for you. But we absolutely loved it and will definitely visit again!

This is a wonderful hotel. It feels like it's too big but in a good way, so you have plenty of space on the large resort basically for yourself. Room is quite big and clean, service is good too.

Be aware that you’re far from pretty much anything and will need to rent a mopped or call a taxi for pretty much anything. There’s some annoying calming music playing nonstop pretty much everywhere, otherwise a nice place.

I loved this place! Very clean, very modern and very nice! Cool vibe, with really nice rooms!! Definitely would stay again!! Seems to be an old resort that they are bringing back to life. Very interesting to walk around and see the rooms that haven’t been updated yet. You will not regret the stay here :) Oh! And also free filtered drinking water, a bonus in Thailand!

Very nice resort. Quiet and peaceful. Looks like they are rebuilding at the moment so a little messy but less busy so it works out great.

amazing place combining everything that is best on the island, lots of nature which is everywhere. Beautiful large houses with an amazing view of the pool and the sea. I recommend it to everyone who wants to relax in an extraordinary quiet place, we will definitely come back there

This is a genuine hidden gem in Koh Yao Yai and it was so good we decided to extend our stay. Here you will be able to relax your mind and recharge with its amazing decor and serene surroundings. The place has a unique, peaceful vibe that truly sets it apart!
