I highly recommend the Gekkoukan (Moonlight Pavilion) after a two-day stay. It's divided into the main building, Kōmōkan, and an annex. There are three hot springs in total, but the water quality is pretty much the same across all of them. I'd suggest sticking to the main building's baths as they are more spacious and convenient. The only downside was that transfers need to be booked in advance, and there isn't a scheduled shuttle bus. Plus, it's quite a hike uphill to get there, which was a real struggle in the summer heat while lugging suitcases.

My experience was almost perfect! The only reason it wasn't was because I don't have a Japanese phone number, so I couldn't contact the hotel for a pick-up. It was raining, so the walk up the hill was a bit challenging. But aside from that, it was truly a five-star experience. The onsen was one of the most relaxing I've ever been to – I even went for another soak the next morning, which says a lot for a late riser like me! I'll definitely be back.

We love the Japanese style room and in-room dining experience. The staff is friendly, welcoming and attentive. They have private onsen which can be booked in advance.

The hotel is perfect for us who would like to take a rest during the trip. The hotel is big and quiet (located with certain distance from down town but you can have shuttle bus to there). The onsen with golden spring (having iron) is special and the Japanese food (dinner and breakfast) is excellent as well.

Love this onsen hotel very much. My one night stay includes breakfast and dinner. All dishes are tasteful and made with heart, room is spacious. We love the 美景日式房帶露天風呂, and one cave onsen free of charge with high privacy. Nice stay and we will be back agin.

Food was great and Eri-san was very friendly and helpful. The room was really clean and love the private onsen with amazing view. I love how attentive Eri-san was as well, the timing in which the next meal came was impeccable, allowing me to enjoy the food thoroughly. Other ryokans I have stayed before (despite being more expensive), the breaks between the food served was very short and it felt like I was rushing to eat. The outdoor hotspring bath was great and perfect for people who cannot stand too high temperatures. Unfortunately, when we wanted to dip in Gekkoen's more traditional and older outdoor hotspring, it was being cleaned. Would love to try dipping in it the next time we visit again.

I don't speak Japanese, only a little English, so I was worried I wouldn't understand the check-in explanation. To my surprise, I actually understood it, and the staff member who explained everything was very thoughtful with their language. There's a shuttle service, and if you don't speak Japanese and want the driver to pick you up, you can ask for help at the Arima Town Tourist Information Center.

A bit far from the train station. Better to call hotel for pick up. Very nice stay we had a wonderful night. The Japanese hot spring reduces your tiredness and fatigue.
