Good basic budget homestay. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They can help arrange an amazing day trip to the backwaters including the best lunch I had in Kerala.

Bastian and Gina made me very welcome, even coming out to the main road to meet me when the taxi driver from the Airport couldn't find the address. The HomeStay is located down a narrow alleyway off KC Jacob Road, so it is easier to arrive during daylight hours if you can. The location was only a 10 minute walk away from the sea and even closer to the Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica which is a good landmark to use for returning from your local adventures if using a tuktuk. The WiFi was excellent and breakfast was good, but only available between 8 am and 10 am. Bastian helped me get a local sim card which was really useful and helped arrange backwater trips for guests putting people in contact with others wanting to do the same trip to keep the costs down. The room is basic but comfortable. If I return to Kochi, I will have no hesitation booking Bastian HomeStay again.

Highly recommended. Rooms are clean and comfortable with a good breakfast and at reasonable prices - money well spent. But the real draw is Bastian himself and his lovely wife. They are so friendly and helpful from arranging massage appointments to day trips, rail tickets and even sim cards - all made so much easier by these lovely people. A really good place to stay.

This was a great place to stay run by a friendly and professional family. The room was clean and had everything we needed including good wifi and unlimited drinking water. We used other services like breakfast which was good value and tasty, and the laundry service which also worked very well. It is very efficiently run. During our time in Cochin, we had some problems accessing cash from an ATM and the family were very helpful.

This is a wonderful homestay. The owners are very kind and helpful and helped with organising tours and ayurvedic treatments, the place is clean and quiet, the location is excellent and the breakfasts are amazing. Highly recommended!

We stayed at George and Gini’s for one week and were warmly received by our hospitable hosts. The room was very clean and the shower had hot water, which was a lovely bonus! The beds were comfortable and the homestay itself is situated it in a quiet neighbourhood within walking distance of Fort Kochi’s main sights. We had breakfast at the homestay and it was fresh and plentiful - I would definitely recommend having the traditional Kerala breakfast as this was a particular highlight for me! Gini and George are so approachable and friendly, and helped us with local food recommendations (the pure veg restaurant nearby was also a particular highlight) and arranged several trips for us. They arranged a backwaters tour, a day trip to Munnar, massage treatments at a local spa and Kathakali tickets. They also arranged airport pick up and an early morning airport drop off for us. Nothing was too much trouble and the hosts always had a smile on their face. I would wholly recommend a stay at Bastian Homestay where the hospitality is second to none!

We have taken 2 rooms for 2 days. ROOMS ARE REALLY WELL MAINTAINED AND CLEANED. THE WAY THEY CARE FOR US WAS AWESOME AND THERE IS NO TIME RESTRICTIONS, WE CAME AND GO AT ANY TIME. THANK YOU SIR AND MA'AM FOR ULTIMATE HOSPITALITY. WE LOVED IT 💯

I stayed 6 days at the Bastien Homestay and it was a great place. Good, clean room with a balcony. Great hosts that were very helpful with advice on places to visit, places to eat and general discussions of Kochi and India. I ate the breakfasts there, where we had a choice of Indian or continental. I always had the Indian breakfast and they were great, a curry dish with some type of bread and 2 fruits. Very tasty and filling. The location is ideal to be able to walk to the ***y sights of Kochi. It is located off an alleyway away from the main streets. It was a great neighborhood that was clean, friendly and safe. I would recommend this place for anyone visiting Kochi whether you are solo, a couple or a group.
