Siam Bay Resort

I booked a beachfront bungalow. The room was clean and the air conditioning was cold. You can sit beside the bed and enjoy the view, or open the curtains and lie in bed to see the sea right outside. There are a lot of rocks directly in front of the room where you can fish or catch crabs. However, for a sandy beach where you can swim, you have to walk a little further. The hotel entrance road is steep, so you need to drive carefully. Breakfast is available in the morning. Booking through Trip was great value for money and very cheap.

A heavenly spot. The staff were very attentive. I got a sea urchin sting and they were so helpful and did everything they could to assist me.

The hotel is a 30-minute drive from the pier. Siam Bay beach is small and secluded. The tide comes in after lunch, so you have plenty of time for a swim. The entry into the water is gradual with no corals, and there are sun loungers on the beach. I arrived at 12 PM and asked for an early check-in. They said it wasn't possible before 3 PM, even though my bungalow was already cleaned. But then they decided to let me in, I guess my surprised look worked wonders. The mattress and pillows are comfortable. They don't do wet cleaning, only sweep. The shower area always has standing water, and it's terribly humid. I asked them to turn on YouTube, they promised but never did... the internet is awful. Breakfasts are good with a decent selection. I also went there for dinner; they have various options and the prices are not high. The staff (except for the reception) are smiling and friendly. They helped me call a taxi to the pier (200 baht). There's nothing else nearby. You can walk along the beach to Kai Bae beach, which takes 15 minutes, and that's where all the shops are, etc. Without a motorbike, it's a bit inconvenient as there's pretty much nothing to do besides swimming.
