Ao Cho Grandview Hideaway Resort

We booked a room with a sea view. It was wonderful and quiet, with our own balcony. The room was spacious. The only downside was the very noisy air conditioning (room 105). The breakfast was a bit odd – there was a lot of variety, but not much I actually wanted to eat. They were also very slow at making omelets. The hotel's private beach was excellent, and sun loungers were provided. There's also a great Rasta bar nearby. Overall, everything was good.

We stayed for 5 days in September. The weather was lovely and sunny, with occasional rain at night. The tides were quite noticeable: low in the morning, high in the evening. The beach itself was partially rocky, but past the pier, it was sandy. We had booked a family room with two beds, so we were very grateful when they upgraded us to two separate, adjoining rooms in one bungalow. Our room was well-equipped with a new air conditioner, bathrobes, umbrellas, a beach bag, coffee-making facilities, bottled water, and toiletries (even a hair tie!). A hairdryer was also provided, and the bed featured a lovely canopy. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would consider returning. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always happy to help with anything we needed, such as arranging a tuk-tuk to another hotel for 200 baht. Breakfasts were satisfactory. However, we were quite disappointed with the dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food quality was poor; dishes were often undercooked or had small portions. The menu photos didn't accurately represent the food, and the dish descriptions were incorrectly translated. Subsequently, we opted to dine at a nearby family-run beach eatery, which served delicious and affordable meals.

What a pleasant surprise! The hotel I originally wanted was fully booked, so I ended up here. A quick Songthaew ride from the pier got me there. It's a bit far from the main hub, but the room is right by the sea, beautiful, clean, and peaceful. The room itself is also spacious and spotless, everything was great. The kids absolutely loved the hotel, and the staff were incredibly warm and friendly. Highly recommend! Oh, and there are street vendors by the sea selling pancakes, salads, and grilled chicken wings. The pancake guy can sometimes be a bit impatient, but the lady selling salads and grilled chicken wings is super friendly, and her food is delicious – I even saw hotel staff buying from her. The kids enjoyed the grilled chicken wings too, and thankfully, no upset stomachs!

Pretty good overall. The hotel boasts a stunning beach and even offers a unique 'Da Tie Hua' performance (a traditional molten iron firework display) on-site. Breakfast was simple but perfectly adequate, and you can conveniently order dinner directly at the hotel.
