A perfect paradise in Chaweng Noi! What a magnificent hotel! The absolute highlight is how the entire property is lush with vibrant tropical greenery: palms, flowers, vines – every corner is Instagram-worthy! The Chaweng Noi beach is spotless, and our private section is meticulously maintained with sand and sunbeds, free from crowds of tourists. The pool is stunning with a view of the bay. Rooms are immaculately cleaned, and breakfasts are varied and hearty (fruits, omelets, pastries – all fresh). The staff are incredibly friendly. The clientele is respectable. And yet, all the necessary infrastructure is well-developed. In short: tranquility, beauty, cleanliness, and warmth. We will definitely be back! 👍

Clean and cozy beach, not too crowded. There were always free sun loungers by the pool. Breakfasts were a bit repetitive, but you could always find something to eat. The staff were very friendly. The tides weren't too strong. Our room was spacious and comfortable.

We stayed at New Star from late April to early May. The hotel is located on Chaweng Noi Beach, which, in our opinion, is the best beach for swimming, clear water, seclusion, and hotel quality. New Star itself consists of several small buildings, bungalows, and villas nestled on a hillside that slopes down to the beach, featuring a huge panoramic pool. The way everything is built and covered by lush vegetation is so intricate that even by the end of our stay, we could still get a little lost looking for our room. The room layout and amenities make for a very comfortable stay, and the housekeeping is excellent. Breakfasts were perfectly adequate and fitting for the hotel's star rating, with various dim sum options available. The staff were incredibly attentive, responding to every request instantly and always with a smile. They even celebrated my birthday with a complimentary cake. There were always plenty of free sun loungers available on the beach and by the pool, and the tree canopies provided reliable shade from the sun. We visited the gym twice a day; there were enough machines and equipment, and water, towels, and disinfectants were provided. In summary, we wholeheartedly recommend this hotel if you're looking for a peaceful, relaxed getaway on a beautiful beach.

The main advantage of this hotel is, of course, its location. Chaweng Noi Beach is wonderfully uncrowded, allowing us to relax in almost complete solitude. The hotel restaurant's menu is average, both in terms of variety and quality. The rooms are a bit dated, but after spending all day on the beach, you hardly notice.

Not very expensive good old hotel, great quiet beach with a lot of plants. Highly recommend!

Large resort area in tropical setting with smaller apartment buildings and houses which makes it very quiet and peaceful, morning sun wakes you up early with lots of birds singing. Breakfast restaurant is great with good selection, pool bar is a little too expensive, but happy hour between 15-17. Fitness is ok but with basic machines needing a little update. Small walk through the garden down to the private beach and restaurant, entire beach only has 4-5 other very quiet hotels. Main hotel entrance from main road, only option as all other hotels also have private roads from and to the beach, which is normal in Samui but also annoying. Once you walk to the main road it has several good restaurants, 7-11 and ATMs. Walk to downtown is possible but takes 30-40 minutes, not really made for pedestrians. We stayed 8 nights and would return due to peaceful setting and beach.

We had a wonderful stay in New Star Beach resort. Food is very good and the resort is very clean and well maintained. 😊

The price/quality ratio was fine. It wasn't a top-notch hotel, but it wasn't bad either. The staff were always friendly ☺️. We had booked a lodge, and there's definitely room for improvement there. Everything felt a bit rickety. The door to the outdoor shower squeaked quite a lot, and the rooms were too dark (even with all the lights on). The beach could also do with being cleaner. It would be a small effort to properly clean the beach every morning/evening to remove all the plastic and rubbish that washes ashore. All in all, it was a decent hotel with very lovely staff.

We stayed at the hotel for 13 nights and booked a bungalow, just a stone's throw from the sea. It's a wonderful location for a secluded getaway with a gorgeous beach. Once a week, on Fridays, the hotel arranges a comfortable transfer to Fisherman's Village, but you need to sign up in advance.

The sea is beautiful, and there are very few people—it's a paradise for a quiet vacation. The hotel grounds are green with birds singing, but it's barely lit in the evenings, making it easy to trip and hurt yourself. I twisted my ankle on the first night, but thankfully, I was fine. Breakfasts are meager, just eggs prepared in various ways. They offer a Thai dish of the day made to order, but it's impossible to eat due to how spicy it is. As for Italian cuisine, they only serve baked sausages. There are plenty of staff in the dining room, just standing around watching you eat or perhaps making sure you don't take too much food? Overall, the food left a negative impression.

This hotel is located on a wide, quiet sandy beach and met all our needs for a relaxing getaway. The spacious rooms, excellent service, and very friendly staff across all facilities are particularly noteworthy. During our stay (January 2026), the guests were mainly couples seeking peace and quiet. There are hardly any recreational activities offered within the hotel; the small fitness area was mostly empty. The ping-pong table could/should be replaced, and we didn't notice any other offerings during our visit. There are various restaurants within easy walking distance in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.

The hotel is old, the rooms are dark, and the staff is terrible.

Good: Staff, breakfast, sun loungers Bad: Everything is worn down, it does not look like pictures! All wooden structures is rotten, paint is falling off etc - looks like no maintaince for 20 years. Food is terrible (tried chicken satay, thaifood and spagetti - only French fries was good) Paid 150euro/night - was worth 1/3 of that I will never come back.

My stay here was amazing! Service was fantastic I was well taken care of. Food and other amenities here were all great and the facilities were all top notch. Highly recommend
