Rocky's Boutique Resort - Veranda Collection Samui Reviews

During the Chinese New Year, hotel prices were outrageous. I unexpectedly booked this hotel, which had very few Chinese guests, and the price was very reasonable. To my surprise, the rooms were quite good, spacious, and both rooms had small balconies. The hotel environment was also nice, with two swimming pools, one by the sea and one outside the villas. The rooms were generally clean, but the air conditioning hadn't been cleaned in a long time; you could see a layer of dust in the vents. The hotel breakfast was a bit disappointing, with not much choice or variety, and no kids' meals, which wasn't very friendly for picky eaters. The hotel is within walking distance of a local restaurant with good reviews (recommended on Xiaohongshu for beautiful sunset views). Although most staff didn't speak Chinese, they were very enthusiastic. Except for one male front desk staff member wearing glasses. When checking in, I mentioned my early flight and was advised to pre-order a breakfast box the day before. However, this staff member kept trying to get me to book a car (a private van costs 700, the hotel charges 1000). I said three times that I wanted to order breakfast, but he acted as if he didn't hear me. It wasn't until I said I wasn't booking a car and just wanted breakfast that he told me to go eat at the restaurant myself! He had a disdainful attitude throughout. I've been to so many countries and so many hotels, and this is the first time I've encountered such terrible service.

It is a wedding hotel, not a relaxing boutique hotel as it is advertised. I stayed there for 8 nights, and on 5 of those nights there were weddings. They have one small beach and one big beach. Due to tidal conditions, only the small beach is usually usable. We were asked to move after 12:00 PM because of wedding preparations. The big beach is often not usable due to waves and tides, and you need to wait until 2:00 PM for the tide to change. In short, there was ongoing disturbance during the wedding days. Sometimes wedding cocktails take place in the dining area, which means it gets very loud. After complaining about this, the hotel management tried to compensate us with additional discounts. However, after traveling such a long distance, these discounts were meaningless. Make sure to check whether there are any weddings scheduled before making a reservation. The staff are very friendly, rooms are very clean and the food and beverages are reasonably priced.

Beautiful resort and excellent price.  Little confusion over spa treatments due to language barrier and to be honest, not the best massage.  I’m Also called reception for around 20 minutes at around 2am with no luck. Had it been an emergency I would have been stuck. Promised 24hr reception presence when we checked in.  Lovely staff and service.

Stayed here with my wife hotel was good clean rooms etc but the service absolutely disgraceful. Was getting everything charged to the room. They asked me to pay a lunch bill while I was in the restaurant which I did. Upon checking out they added the already paid bill onto the final bill. They then threatened to bring authorities if I didn’t pay and would refuse to check in cctv to prove I had already paid. Be very careful as I was scammed. I may add the food was very expensive considering the quality of it.

We had a fantastic time here the hotel is 10/10 from the rooms to the staff.

Great caring staff. Attentive care. And thoughtful convenience. I especially want to mention. Excellent. Kitchen. I was at my birthday party and got a lot of attention. And the worries? A gift. For warmth.

Very nice stay, the hotel is off the beaten path, with very small private beach. 10 minutes walk to lamai beach. Very clean and beautiful room, spacious, comfortable, and quiet. Nice pools. The breakfast was good, with both buffet and a la carte, quick service. Staff was lovely. The food was not really an highlight tho, would recommend going to the small town.

We really enjoyed our stay at Rocky’s which a lovely boutique hotel which is rated 4 star but is probably worth 4.5 star whilst the service is definitely 5.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Everything was perfect. The location on the beach and rocks was so beautiful. The room was spacious, clean and luxurious. The garden swimming pool so relaxing and the food and drinks delicious. The staff were a delight!
