As we stayed there with our friends last year and as we were satisfied with sauna world, we have decided to stop in Mjus resort for one night today. Unfortunatelly the front desk staff at reception was really unhelpful and unfriendly. So we changed our mind and did not stop there this time.

Chaotic check-in, unskilled staff, billing not ordered services, really bad price-quality ratio

After two days at Mjus over my birthday, we came away with a mixture of feelings. Overall, there were three strong posiitves and three big problems: On the positive side: 1. The sauna area is excellent and the sauna sessions/seances each day were outstanding (and we've been to a lot around Hungary - these were amongst the best). 2. The food is amazing and is certainly of the highest quality. They also catered well for us (we have special diets - vegetarian, and one is gluten-free) and there was excellent choice and taste. There was also the pleasant surprise of a fruit plate delivered to our room on my birthday, which was a nice gesture. 3. The rooms are tastefully designed, spacious and really sound-proof. They have even designed the doors to each room so they close silently, which is rare in any hotel. There's a real Nordic sense to the design which somehow works wonderfully inside a building that, from the outside, looks very ordinary. And then the three big problems: 1. The staff need some real training in customer service and hospitality. With the exception of the sauna area, where the staff were pleasant and helpful, the staff elsewhere seemed bored, frustrated and gave the impression that hotel guests were an inconvenience. The front desk staff at reception were particularly unhelpful and unfriendly. 2. Sadly, for a thermal resort, the water in the pools simply isn't hot enough. In fact, the water in the adults-only shared indoor/outdoor pool next to the sauna area was so cool that we could only take 5-10 minutes at a time before we had to get out and have a sauna to warm up. At most it was about 33-34 degrees, which on a cold January day in the open air just doesn't feel comfortable. During this same trip we went to many other thermal resorts around the region, and their hottest open-air pools were a wonderful 38-39 degrees and just blissful! 3. The check-out restriction of 10:30am is early, but OK if that's what they need to do. But the really unfortunate part is that after 10:30 you cannot use the pools or saunas anymore. Even if you have checked out of your room and taken you luggage to the car, they simply won't allow you to enjoy the facilities as part of your stay on the day of departure. This leaves you with the feeling of a business that is both greedy and willing to put (pointless) rules and profits before customer service and kindness - and it doesn't leave guests with a good feeling. On balance, there is so much potential to Mjus - but it would be hard to strongly recommend the place until the water is warmer, and the smiles too!

Mjus World stands unique aming wellness hotels in Hungary. The spacious rooms with lots of open spaces, the guided sauna sessions, the lake pool, the Italian cousine, bowling alleys, confectionary and more. When you enter the lobby you see a photo reel of all hotel staff members whcih gives you a sense of family from the start. Thank you Anita for a wonderful stay!

We spent 3 nights here, not for the first time but not for the last. Huge spaces everywhere and although it is a bit far from Budapest for the Spa depar**ent it is definitely worth coming. The sauna sessions are fantastic, the sauna masters (especially János) do their craft on a professional level. The masseurs are also very good, we spent pleasant moments here. The selection of breakfast is excellent, the choice and quality of dinner could be better but the drawbacks were forgotten due to the childlessness of the Spa part (Sauna World). So these 4 day was really relaxing!!!

We planned to visit this hotel for 3 nights in september, but we left after 1. We had many strange experiences, and we do think: it’s not the quality and the service level of an average 4 stars hotel. The “premium” priced room has no wardrobe, the bathroom is not clear, you can’t close its door, and it’s quite a challange to use the fixed hangers, so you must let your clothes in your suitcases. The wellness departement is cold, dirty, seemed overused. They don’t open the saunas before 10 am, but you can satisfy the companion of the mosquitos in the pool instead. The meal is daunting, it’s like a school canteen, the ingredients bought from probably the tesco. And in the end: after being honest regarding the reasons of our early leaving and disappoin**ent at the registration desk, the management didn’t want to meet us, they only sent their massage via the hostess girl, that we have to pay without any discount. We’ll never go back , not only because of the aboves, but the environment around the hotel (factories), and the backslapping attitude of some of the waiters.

i am staying at this hotel for business reasons, its a lovely 4 star hotel close to where i am working. i have not used any of the thermal park facilities. the room and hotel are very clean. breakfast is excellent. wifi too is pretty good. as i said i am here on business, which is coming to a close. i thought the hotel would be glad to have my room back a day earlier. they are happy to have my room but will still charge me for the night i will not use. so it looks like i have to stay in the hotel for which i dont need. reception informed that they can only change a reservation if notified 24hours before arrival. i am very dissapointed, how can you know if can can leave early before you start your business?? please be aware of this if you travel here on business

On the way to the holiday home on Lake Balaton we stayed at the mjus thermal baths for 3 days. However, we didn't really feel like guests from the start! No serious welcome, not even in the paper form in the room! The staff had trouble smiling, no matter what area they were in. The rooms have been somewhat modernized, but also have some defects, such as a very large stain on the sofa. We had booked the suite, which didn't even have a coffee maker. There wasn't even a kettle. The parents' bed was made by room service, but the daughter's bed wasn't! Used glasses were left standing, other things weren't refilled. The thermal baths themselves = disappointing: an adult area with no nudism!!! Huh? Not enough on offer for older children aged 7-13. The outdoor pool is nice, but you can't do much more than swim there. The childcare staff think it's too good to work for 3-4 children! The same goes for the sauna infusion master: goodbye plan... you have to beg for the sauna infusion. Everything is difficult, only the quality of the cocktails is really worth mentioning and the food in the morning and evening is also good... No lounge or similar for chilling in the evening somewhere outside. No holiday feeling!! No value for money!! There are much better places in Austria for the same money. We won't be coming back! 2 stars for the food, the cocktails and the one infusion that we were allowed to try. Thank you!!

Unfortunately, we only read the last review after our booking and can only agree with the user. At least the rooms are positive: clean, nicely furnished (although the quality is cheap) and the two new saunas in the outdoor area. The rest, however, is silence: the advertised nudist sauna area does not exist, and you even have to get dressed to shower indoors. There is no nudist rest area. All loungers were occupied, for another lounger area in the saunas you would have had to pay extra. While the hotel halls are tiled, all floors in the swimming area are made of melamine - risk of falling and broken legs! The food is another bereavement: little choice, tasteless, carelessly arranged and the plates are mostly empty after half an hour. Only stale bread and hard pastries for breakfast. And all of that in a huge, uncomfortable "Bahnhofshalle". The food in the wellness bar also comes with sauce! only served in the (soaked) carton. Necessary repair work was obviously not carried out: cracked plaster, water stains, broken tiles and a unkempt stone floor around the pool are not compatible with an alleged 4 star + rating. All in all: the value for money is by no means right and we will certainly never go back and can only warmly advise travelers who value quality.
