Super big hotel. Very nice surroundings, staff, service, pools and beach for adults and kids as well. Location wise - far away from the city, no walks in the evenings, only option is a bus

After having arrived late after a significant flight delay, I was delighted at the superb service provided by reception. Our bags were quickly whisked away to our room, vouchers for our welcome drinks and the missed dinner that evening were already in our welcome pack and we did feel very welcome. Our room was very spacious, twin beds (as requested) as well as a good sized sofa allowing us to relax, excellent storage (we actually unpacked for the week and forgot about suitcases), two sinks in the bathroom and a lovely size shower (the bathroom was truly designed for two people to enjoy). The balcony offered a sea view and beautiful sunsets (the stuff of dreams here) while enjoying a glass or two (really useful foldaway rack for drying that didn't impose on the space). I loved that the staff remembered our preferences for drinks and were always delightfully friendly and professional (everywhere - the restaurants, the bar, the cafés, the pools and the towel hut (thanks Olga!). The Adults-only pool was a wonderful sanctuary for me in the afternoon after enjoying the sand and surf of the beach in the morning (bar codes on the umbrellas for ordering made this all the better - food and drink promptly arrived, was good value, and delicious). The gelato bar was a daily treat and a true indulgence. The pièce de résistance of this wonderful resort has to be the departure lounge (as truly sad as we were to go) - a late night flight and a midday checkout which is so often a nightmare ending to a holiday were nothing of the sort at Neptune - hot showers, the same wonderful soft towels and fabulous Clarins products (we enjoyed these immensely in our room and throughout the resort) made for a full day's enjoyment of the resort's facilities. Make time for the Taverna - as a couple of foodies, our expectations were high and they were exceeded - too delicious! Thank you Neptune - I'm already organising to return next year! Solo visitors - this is a definite for you - I do a lot of solo travelling and I'm always on the lookout for perfect destinations - Neptune is certainly that!

Overall an excellent resort. Really well organised. Three restaurants (Italian, Greek, Chinese/Thai) - all brilliant. Everything I needed was on site- Shop, pharmacy, ice cream shop, scuba/snorkel trips to Kalymnos. Staff are smiley and helpful. Majority are German families. VERY hard to find a sun bed at the pool, or by beach after 10am!! There is a policy about reserving sun beds- But it is not enforced and should be. About 70% of the sun beds had a towel on them but nobody there! Quite stressful and very annoying. Had to PAY for a beach gazebo just to get a sun bed with shade. Managers need to sort this.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. Rooms were very good, clean, comfortable and serviced daily. Fresh towels and linen as requested and lovely Clarins products. Beach, although narrow was perfectly adequate and had plenty of space. Watersports on offer were popular. Only downside was an underwater pipe or something which was covered which I tripped over on the 1st day but no big issue. The beach does have sea defences but no bother. Hotel grounds were lovely, very well groomed and staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and kind. Special thanks to Eleni who welcomed us so warmly every breakfast and evening meal. Meals were plentiful and delicious! We used the adult pool area which was fantastic and plenty of space for all (although appreciate we weren’t there at peak time) One thing we didn’t like was other guests smoking around us… seemed to be surrounded some days. Perhaps they could be encouraged to smoke away from other guests? We were really impressed on arrival that as we had missed dinner, the hotel automatically bought sandwiches to our room and we had a meal voucher to use in the Taverna in the resort. The departure lounge was also fantastic, we had a late flight and were able to shower and relax until our transfer. All in all a brilliant stay and I will be back as soon as we can book a room!

A spontaneous 4 days away. From the start the staff were amazing, beautiful grounds kept in pristine condition. Lovely pools. Never have problem getting a bed and umbrella. Gorgeous lazy morning walk along the coastline. Lovely lobby bar with drinks and nibbles, delicious main restaurant and delightful Taverna. Honestly I understand why all the guests I spoke to returning guests. Lovely adults only areas although didn’t need it as not school holidays. Staff in all areas were accommodating. Also great departure lounge with showers and changing rooms. Was welcomed as solo traveller. Great choice !!

We stayed here one night at the end of a holiday in Kalymnos; to help with ferry and flight timings. Arrival was at check in time and the lobby was fairly empty. Our room had been prepaid and was a deluxe sea view. Sadly Neptune fell flat - I guess we’d been spoiled at the Kantouni Beach but this was neither sea view nor deluxe (check out their rooms if you want both these things and more). To be fair, you can just see the sea if you don’t mind the 10 foot pampus and other trees in the way. It was otherwise ok. The air con was set at 20, not far off what we heat our homes to in the UK. We wandered back up to reception and asked if we could have the room temperature lowered. The response was fairly brusque with the male receptionist telling us that was it 20 and would only ever be 20 and he kept repeating this. I asked for a fan. Not a huge ask in a ‘luxury 5 star hotel’ but it seemed to annoy. We left, unsure of what we would get. After a little exploring and sampling our (very welcome) ‘welcome drink’ we returned to our room to a note with a sesame biscuit. There was no fan and I was about to ring reception when my husband discovered the air con had been chilled down to 16c. A good result but why tell us it was set at 20 and could go no lower if that were not the case? You can request a lower temperature at reception, but it is on an individual basis. Dinner was in the Asian influenced restaurant and whilst it was all undercover, it was open to the elements so very warm and stuffy but he food was good, tasty and well presented but nothing out of the ordinary. With check out set for noon, we had some time by the adults only pool which was really nice. Returning to our room to shower and leave for the airport I realised the hairdryer was not working. It was fine for 10 seconds then seemed to stop. I called reception and advised them we were checking out at noon. They promised to send the electrician. He never materialised and I continued to dry my hair with 10 seconds on, 1 minute off hairdryer antics. I got there but it was painful. A couple of points to note, the shower - a sort of wet room - would not drain of water and the drains had that really awful smell. You do get used to it but it’s rather grim. The floor of the whole room was sticky and with damp towels on the floor after our shower it was clear it wasn’t clean when they went very black and grubby. Housekeeping take note. Wash the floor, don’t just swish the dirty water from one end to another. Upon checkout (same member of staff who was intent on a 20c air con standard) we were told the electrician had called but our ‘do not disturb’ sign was on our door. Not so, but I really couldn’t be bothered as I was never going to convince the staff member. Why didn’t he knock? Because he didn’t come. Overall, this is an ok resort, I wouldn’t want to stay here very long (or again). It was mostly German guests and did feel like a glorified Butlins. It cer

I have never stayed in a five star hotel and if they are all like this I'd be happy to pay the extra pennies all the time! It was really luxurious and comfortable, staff were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was fantastic and there were about 4 swimming pools and different sections of beach with a different vibe. Really loved it. Took windsurfing lessons while there and they were great. Close to the airport. I hired a car from the hotel one day - very simple - and visited Kardemena, Kefalos and Tigati and did not regret my decision to stay here. Was with a friend. I sometimes travel solo and in that case might prefer to be somewhere I can walk out of the hotel and be close to bars etc but the feeling of this place being like a safe sanctuary added to the 'escape' element of the holiday. Would recommend to anyone - couldn't fault it and felt genuinely sad to leave.
