Grand Mercure Krabi Ao Nang

The accommodation was clean, and the breakfast had a good variety. The pool was lovely, and the staff provided excellent service. My only minor suggestion for improvement would be regarding the welcome drink; it was given as a coupon that I had to redeem myself.

Had a great experience at the Grand Mercure Krabi. The hotel is well-located and close to all amenities. The staff are very friendly and attentive to our requests. Since the hotel is built on a mountainside, it's laid out on several levels, which is something to consider when booking (you'll need to use the elevator and stairs to reach your room). The hotel is still undergoing renovations, but we didn't experience any noise or disturbance.

Top notch! It was really great, we stayed 4 nights and all the staff were genuinely super sweet and helpful. The room was clean and hygienic. The only downside was that there were quite a few Indians, which wasn't ideal; they were quite boisterous, though of course, not everyone, but still. The hotel itself is excellent.

Excellent breakfasts, friendly staff, comfortable room, but average soundproofing with the neighboring room – there's a connecting door. The construction is almost finished; sometimes there were minor construction works on the premises, but it didn't cause any inconvenience. The hotel consists of several buildings: the higher the building number, the further you have to walk uphill, but the better the view. An electric cart runs uphill on the premises, but we didn't use it as we were staying in the second building.

The hotel is comprised of several buildings, and the lobby is separate, meaning that no matter which building you stay in, there's no direct access to the lobby. I stayed in Building F, and getting to the lobby required two elevator changes. Plus, I was given a corner room on the first floor, with the restaurant's outdoor air conditioning units right outside my balcony – no view at all, just a messy array of outdoor restaurant machinery!

The staff were generally friendly. However, there were some shortcomings. I requested a twin-bed room, but was assigned a king-bed, and the check-in process wasn't smooth. Be careful in the superior room's bathroom, as it becomes a puddle after showering and can be slippery. The 'welcome coupon' wasn't free; it was a 50 baht voucher to be used at the bar. I think it would be better if they just offered a free welcome drink. Also, the absence of body lotion doesn't quite fit a 5-star hotel. Despite these points, since it's the newest hotel in the area, I would consider staying again.
