Tonsai Bay Resort Reviews

The hotel is located right by the beach, in a quiet and beautiful spot. The room was cleaned, and towels were changed regularly. The shower in the bathroom was awkwardly placed, but the water pressure was good. They provide bottled water, but no tea or coffee. We stayed for 4 days. For two of those days, breakfast was a buffet, and for the last two, it was à la carte. However, each person could only choose between eggs and sausages OR rice and pasta – you couldn't have both. For a man, for example, this is a very small portion. You could also get fruit, coffee, and pastries. But be aware that they don't restock these items, so if you come late for breakfast, you might go hungry. The hotel doesn't offer a transfer service, not even a paid one, which is extremely inconvenient since the only way to get there is by boat. Getting there isn't too bad as people are gathering, but getting back is problematic. You have to wait for 8 people to gather. There were two of us, we waited, then two more people came, and we waited again. Eventually, we gave up and paid 200 baht per person instead of 100. This somewhat dampened our stay at Tonsai Beach. Otherwise, everything else was wonderful!

Honestly disappointed. If it were half the price I would give a better rating. The shower smelling of rotten eggs and sewage for the first 5 minutes when used. It also is fixed to the wall so it sprays straight across the bathroom which makes it useless unless your 7 feet tall. Ants on everything. Including crawling on you when in bed. The halls carried so much sound that if anybody opens or closes a door it wakes you up. Out of 3 nights I didn't get to sleep in past 7 once which was the entire reason I booked a resort away from the streets. The TV had 200 channels but only 10 of them would work and it was all paid programs. The room was clean and the bed was comfy, but between the ants and water smelling bad it didn't feel very clean. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Was just too expensive for the downsides.

The resort is 0 meters from the beach, with an astonishing view. Arriving by a long tail boat which is a nice experience itself. One can find anything you need for a wonderful vocation:2 restaurant, beach bar, 2 minimarkets, loundery servises, kayaks, hiking. We loved the place, ordered more and more days of staying. Definitely return.

The room was quite spacious and the service was great. They even provided a power strip and a hairdryer, which I wish I had known so I wouldn't have brought my own! The only downside was a slight odor in the bathroom. However, the environment was lovely, perfect for taking photos.

The island is very quiet, so you can sleep in undisturbed, perfect for a vacation. It's especially great for rock climbing enthusiasts, as the cliffs are just a few steps away. The room facilities are complete, with excellent air conditioning and hot water. My only suggestion would be for a bit more variety at breakfast every day. It might suit Western palates, but for a Chinese stomach, it was hard to get used to. Everything else was great! My daughter is going to Krabi for rock climbing, so we'll definitely book here again next time.

We really enjoy our stay here at Ton Sai Bay resort. It is peaceful and quiet suitable for family with elderly and young children. The room is new and very clean housekeepers are doing wonderful. The bed is comfy, lighting is good and relaxing. Bathroom amenities are good too. I like the non slippery tiles in the bathroom so it made it easy showering young kid without slippery. Breakfast buffet is good too. Hotel staff are friendly and ready to assist. There is also a doctor available in this beach (1min walk from reception) so can contact regarding emergencies. Walking to Rai Ley Beach seems like mini adventure for us (coz we have elderlies and a small baby) but we had lots of fun and good time spent. This place is well known for rocks-climbing so it is full of fit people men and women with good bodies so don’t come here if you hate yourself your body, otherwise let s appreciate and respect other’s effort and discipline . Other than that, prices are higher than selling on land which is normal. Taking boats during day time is much more saver. Overall, my family and I really enjoyed staying. We stayed for about a week and celebrated new year at this place. Please note : the day we arrived was already evening time. It was dark and water level was super low so we had to carry luggage and small baby through the rocks in the water. That was the only inconvenience that we received but resort sent buggy to assist us later on.

This is a really great hotel with beautiful views and breakfast served in one of the most picturesque spots in Krabi.

- Great location, right on the beachfront, with sea views from the room. - Wild beach, no sunbeds or crowds. - You can walk to Railay Beach, a good workout! - Downsides: a very small shower, no decent massage parlor nearby, and expensive drinking water.

Incredible stay. The view was magnificent, and the cleanliness was spot on. The restaurant is very good, and I'm quite picky about food. The facilities aren't super luxurious, but I found them perfectly adequate. I loved that I booked a room in the hotel rather than the bungalows; being beachside offered a stunning view from the room. Access is only by boat. There aren't many shops on the beach, otherwise you have to go to Railay Beach (a much busier beach and quite difficult to access on foot; you have to take a small, rather dangerous path in my opinion). Few boats go to Railay from Tonsai, or at least they only make the trip for groups. If you're solo, it's more expensive, and I was refused several times even though the beach is right next door. But Tonsai Beach is sublime, an intimate beach with very few people for the season. I loved staying on this beach and at this hotel. I would come back if I could.

This hotel is located on a beach inaccessible to roads and it is not obvious in the description. Beware!

We arrived to the resort after spending 4 nights in the vibrant Aonang and really enjoyed its relaxing and pieceful vibes. Its a great location if you travel with kids and would like to spend most of your time at the beach. The resort provides abundant meals for breakfast at a cafe located at the seaside with stunning view. For dinner you have limited option tough. Railey beach is also available on foot (20 min walk) if you want to explore other beaches for a change or you would try other meal options.
