This is a newly acquired hotel in the middle of Petaling street shopping street,, adequately refurbished with newly painted walls, newly laid flooring, new air-con, new beddings, some parts of toilets eg tiles are new, but sinks & bowl could be old. Many rooms still have some issues when i stayed, within the first week of opening. Since most parts of the room are new, the physical condition deserves 5 stars.
I cannot speak of the same on the service. When i booked the room, the description mentioned the room has window, but when i checked in, the lady told me the room with window not available and assigned me another room without window, i accepted it since it was quite late, past 8pm already. The room was quite spacious, i was quite happy. About half an hour after entering the room, electricity ran out, i went to the lobby, nobody was there, i called, nobody pick up. So i had to walk to the other hotel (Petaling Street branch a few shops away), and was told to look for the housekeeper at a certain room number. So i did that, and found the housekeeper, who checked the condition in the room and was not able to fix it. He then contacted the manager and assigned another room without window, but smaller. I did not accept this room since it did not fulfil the criteria in the booking, i request for the room with window, on the same floor, in which the housekeeper and staff from the other branch had very long phone conversation with the manager trying to convince her to let me stay in the room with window. Finally, about half hour later, almost 10pm, i settled into that room. I just don't understand why the manager hesitated for so long since the room was available and i only stay for 3 nights. This is poor customer service, and there should not be any excuse on the ground that i should not complain on this point since it is a budget hotel.
