Right across from Chinatown, very clean, and you can book in advance for a lower price.

Check-in was smooth and reception staff were professional. First room was uncleaned — messy bedding, trash, used drinkware and towels left. Second room had an improperly locking door, a housekeeping key card left in the socket, smoke smell, and missing toiletries. Security and housekeeping need improvement. Overall stay was otherwise fine.

Don't be fooled by the hotel's online photos! This trip to Malaysia, our accommodation was a huge disappointment. It's best to check the room in person before checking in, as you can easily get a bad one. Also, hotels in Malaysia charge various tourism taxes, consumption taxes, and other miscellaneous fees, so be sure to ask for a detailed breakdown of taxes before booking, and double-check the booking platform page. This hotel looked high-end and spacious in the pictures, but the room layout was old, and it wasn't clean; we even saw bugs. The experience was really poor. For the same price, you could stay in a much better room domestically. Here, not only is the hardware subpar, but I sincerely advise everyone to inspect the room's cleanliness upon arrival and only check in if it's acceptable.

I booked the hotel through Trip.com, and it was totally worth it. It was even cheaper than booking directly with the hotel, and they upgraded my room for free.

The hotel's location is good, but the room was dirty and unkempt. I found cockroaches and hair on the bed, making it impossible to sleep. I had to move to another hotel that very night. Additionally, the hotel entrance felt unsafe; you could reach our room without needing a key card scan. The elevator is outside, and the emergency fire exit lacks security. Everything felt old.

Generally ok but bed not so comfy. Area is near Petaling Street . Overall still ok

Very disappointing stay at Pacific Express Hotel Malaysia. The only positives were the location — just a 1-minute walk to Petaling Street Market — and the ability to check in late, which was convenient for us. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was far below expectations and certainly not worthy of the 4-star rating advertised. In reality, this hotel feels more like a 2-star property. The breakfast was poor with very limited quality and options. The hotel also had ongoing water issues, and the shower system was extremely strange and inconvenient. Hot water had to be switched on separately outside the bathroom, and there was no proper way to mix hot and cold water while showering. The elevator situation was a nightmare. Only one lift was operating for the entire hotel, creating long delays. During checkout, I waited almost 30 minutes just to get to the lobby and eventually had to send my heavy suitcase down in the elevator while I walked downstairs myself. Cleanliness and maintenance were also major concerns. The hallways had unpleasant smells, and the overall condition felt dirty and poorly managed. The air-conditioning was weak and did not cool the room properly. Although there was a phone in the room, it could not be used to contact reception, and there was no clear information provided for guests. The Wi-Fi was also terrible — very slow and unreliable. On top of this, guests should be aware of additional charges, including a RM30 tourist tax and a RM50 deposit. Overall, this hotel needs significant improvements in maintenance, cleanliness, facilities, and management before it can justify calling itself a 4-star hotel.

OVERALL IS GOOD AND ACCEPTABLE

I like the food and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's very close to Petaling shopping lanes whereby many things to buy.
