I honestly do not know where to start, I booked the hotel without really knowing much about Kumamoto Prefecture. After arriving in Kumamoto City and then realising Ueki Onsen is another 40 minute bus ride I was thinking oh dear where am I staying. After arriving at the hotel I was greeted by the manager of the hotel who showed me to my room and gave me a tour of the facilities. Once settled in I realised there isn't great public transport around and I primarily wanted to see Beppu and Yufuin during my stay, I enquired with the manager on where I might be able to rent a car, with little to no Japanese language under my belt he took it upon himself to reserve a vehicle for me and offered to drive me himself to collect it. He then also said he would take me back to return it a few days later. After my trips to Beppu and Yufui village (Not to be missed) and not to miss the outstanding and beautiful surroundings in Uekimachi and the Aso region. The manager and I set off to return my hire car, on the way back he took me to Kikuchi shrine to pray and also gifted me coffee and cake. They also accommodated me with use of the on site onsen (amazing) after hours as I'm heavily tattooed. I feel truly grateful to have found this hidden gem of rural Japan and if you are thinking of traveling this great country I emplore you to go off the beaten path. I experienced untold kindness during my stay and have memories of a life time. Thank you so much guys

It's a fine, old-fashioned inn with a spacious bath. It doesn't have the latest facilities or trendy amenities, but the staff are friendly and the place is well-kept. Breakfast is fine if you get it from a convenience store, so it's fine. It was a good value.

The hotel is a bit far from the city center, so driving might be more convenient. The nearest convenience store is a 5-minute drive away. There are also some snacks available in the hotel lobby. Since the hotel is in the suburbs, there are quite a few small insects, which is unavoidable. Also, I think I stayed in the old wing; there's no elevator, and the room didn't have a bathroom. You have to go to the public bathhouse to shower, but the opening hours are limited, so be aware of them!

This is the hotel I used for a business trip to the provinces. There's no breakfast. Since it's in a remote area, there's only one Lawson convenience store nearby. There's no other option around here, so I have no choice.

Located in the Ueki Onsen area, you can take a bus from downtown Kumamoto to the hotel. Although the bus runs very rarely, it is only a 3-5 minute walk from the bus to the hotel. The hotel has been renovated, clean and tidy, the room is large It's a pity that the outdoor hot springs are suspended. Only the indoor ones can be used. The hot springs are very good and natural. In addition, it may be the off-season now, and the hotel cannot provide breakfast even if the price is increased. The service staff is very friendly. I would like to come again if there is a chance to open an outdoor hot spring.

This is a self-drive tour, thinking that it would be okay to stay farther away in a hot spring hotel, so I chose this one. It's a very old hotel, but it's acceptable for the price. The room was large, very clean and tidy, and very comfortable. Front desk only an uncle reception, amiable attitude, give you the key to your own room, check-in outdoor hot spring maintenance only indoor, because the location is remote only saw two or three residents, stay three days and two nights, the next day towels at the door to change, back when only given a set There was an outdoor hot tub, but no way out for repairs.
