Hotel room is same as the pictures that display on the app/website. Staff are friendly and polite. There is an onsite parking but you need to pay. The breakfast is good! I like the cakes! It's yummy! Walking distance to the castle and shopping area. A good place to stay!

Good location just in front of the castle. Night view is great. The 10th floor for breakfast and coffee at night is the best place to relax. Breakfast is the best I have in this trip. We have breakfast at new year eve and new year day , the food is probably arranged and served. The only complaint is the parking not available for my Toyota Harriers. I need to park at private parking cost me ＞ 2000 yen .

Kumamoto castle view, altho is from a far distance. Room is alright, beware if you are driving a SUV as their parking lots cant fit in. Overall satisfying.

The room was very clean. Staff were really helpful - I asked the front desk for food recommendations and they offered some good choices at late night time. Rooms were clean with toiletries well provided. Would be even better if some small utensils/plates could be provided in the room for some chill snack time. But all in all, 10/10!

Fair for its price, clean, big room .. a bit outdated but nothing that compromises my stay. The location is not ideal but is no far from main attractions

Nice hotel at a great location. I lowered the amenities score because they don’t provide toothpaste if you opt in to their eco initiative. Only clean towels and a teabag daily. This is very different from the eco initiatives in other hotels I’ve stayed at in Japan. Maybe not brushing your teeth saves the environment? I don’t know. Besides that, the ac is centrally controlled, which made nights pretty warm.

If I visit Kumamoto again in the future, I will definitely stay in Ark Hotel. It offers easy access to Kumamoto Castle and Sakura Machi. I also enjoyed the lounge service of the hotel. The lounge is on the 10th floor of the hotel. I could see the Keeps of the castle. Wonderful view!! The lounge is open to the guest from 3 pm to 11 pm. Guests could enjoy free coffee and drinks. Good place to relax.

Everything is good Great location, 5mins walk from convenience stores, Kumamoto Castle, and 10mins from the shopping area Also great amenities They have a free manga section, and they serve free drinks in their lounge with a Kumamoto Castle view
