Hotel location is just 3-5mins casual walk towards the Tram no. A direction.. The staff at lobby was exceptionally friendly & smiley. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. Amenities like toothbrush & paste, face wash, etc are readily available at lobby too. The morning breakfast was heartwarming & enough to complete a nice Jap meal. Tram A goes to Kumamoto Castle, Kamitori - the shopping area and Sakura-machi, the Bus Terminal. Convenient. No in-house onsen though.

I've stayed at several Toyoko Inn hotels, and as always, I'm thoroughly satisfied. This particular location is excellent, right next to Kumamoto Station. The room was clean and comfortable, and the service was warm and attentive. The breakfast was also quite good.

This was a gorgeous hotel and I enjoyed every minute - lovely room with a bath and great views - literally less than 5 minute walk to Kumamoto station and 3 minutes walk to the tram line.

Omg, to cansel another hotel and change booking to this was my best decision! A had awesome view! I really enjoyed it during the late evening, check the photo. Breakfast was so good, I never leave dinning area hungry. Lovely! In case the space is full, you can take it to your room. With that view, I wasn't against 😉 Other things like in every other Toyoko inn.

Wall is thin. I could hear people coughed and talked telephone. Bed was not comfortable. Their front staff was too busy and did not smile. However, I enjoyed the good view from window. Also, it is near bus from airport. The facial cleanser was oily and i immediately got pimple.

Very convenient location close to the train station, and it's just a short walk to the A-line tram which takes you directly into the city center! The breakfast caters well to Chinese palates, definitely recommended! Hopefully, they can add some Chinese translations in the future!

This hotel is super close to Kumamoto Station, just a three-minute walk. The room was really clean and had that typical Japanese style. I loved that I could take breakfast back to my room. And they even provided lotion, emulsion, and facial cleanser, which was a nice surprise! Toyoko Inn definitely offers great value for money!

Just a 3-minute walk from Kumamoto Station, this is definitely the right choice if most of your itinerary involves JR travel. The facilities are basic, but thankfully it's clean and functional enough. Plus, a rare bonus is the free breakfast.
