FourPoints by Sheraton Kunming City Centre Hotel

This newly opened downtown hotel, built in 2025, is a gem! It's just a 3-minute walk to Kunming Old Street, Shuncheng, and Jinma Biji Archway. Plus, there are tons of amazing food options nearby, making it the perfect base for any food-loving adventurer. The entire room features smart controls, and the bedding is incredibly comfortable. While the hairdryer isn't a Dyson, the Laifen is still excellent. We even received complimentary welcome fruit upon arrival, and the minibar is entirely free. The concierge was proactive in helping with our luggage, and the views from our 28th-floor room, overlooking the city lights at night, were stunning. The 24-hour gym is a huge plus, allowing me to work out whenever I wanted – a truly thoughtful amenity. Many star-rated hotels are still stuck with traditional satellite TV, so it was a delight to find that this one offers screen mirroring that works seamlessly. The smart entertainment system is a standout feature, and I give it a big thumbs up! (*≧∪≦)👍🏻 Now, let's talk about breakfast: The selection of Chinese and Western dishes is extensive, including many authentic Yunnan specialties. The rare pea flour, kumiss, five-color glutinous rice, and flower cakes were all outstanding and delicious. My only regret is not getting to try the Eggs Benedict – a slight disappointment. The restaurant service was exceptional. The staff were friendly and attentive, proactively guiding us to our table. They even offered coffee to go, cleared plates promptly, and provided warm and thorough service throughout. This truly enhanced my experience. Justin Liu deserves a special mention for his proactive enthusiasm and prompt responses. Five stars!

I spontaneously changed my reservation from the Nan Hilton to the Sheraton City Center, mainly because of its convenient location and easy access to transportation. The bustling commercial area downstairs offers plenty of dining options, and the hotel is relatively new, built in 2025. As it's in the city center, the rooms aren't as spacious as the Sheraton in Dali, but it's well-equipped despite its smaller size. Since we were three adults and one child, I discussed it with the front desk, and they kindly provided an extra adult's breakfast, which significantly enhanced our experience. We only stayed one night, so we didn't use the self-service laundry, but I've used it at the Dali Sheraton, and it's very convenient. If I visit Kunming again in the future, I'll definitely choose the Sheraton. Upon check-in, we received welcome fruits and drinks, and bottled water was available in the elevator lobby for guests to take freely, which was a nice and convenient touch. The hotel also has a well-equipped gym. The staff were not overly enthusiastic but maintained an appropriate distance, which was perfect for someone like me. My child was reluctant to leave and said they wanted to come back.

This hotel truly lives up to its name, 'Center Hotel,' being right next to the pedestrian street and genuinely in the heart of the city. It's incredibly convenient for getting anywhere, but it's best to take the subway back to the hotel, otherwise, the traffic can be really bad.

The hotel's location is excellent, right on the pedestrian street. It's about a 5-minute walk to Kunming Old Street. There are plenty of shopping and dining options nearby, offering a wide variety. The room is a bit small, but it's clean and tidy, recently renovated, and quite spotless. The service was exceptionally good. They helped with luggage and directed traffic. Highly recommend!

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, surrounded by large shopping malls and food streets, and places like Kawah are very close by. The breakfast was also good. Getting a taxi from here to anywhere was always super fast. The room was exceptionally clean, and the front desk staff were very kind. They were also very prompt in responding to any requests for items.

This is an upgraded Orange Hotel, at best a four-star, definitely not five-star – it's far from it. The soundproofing is non-existent; I only got four hours of sleep all night. I could hear every conversation outside my door, doors opening and closing, and toilets flushing – every sound came right through. They told me the mini-bar was complimentary, but when I opened it, I just laughed. Two Cokes really don't deserve to be called a mini-bar... it's just too pathetic.

I stayed at the Sheraton Hotel in Kunming for two days during my trip. It's located in a bustling commercial area, making it very convenient for taxis to get around. The nearest subway station is about a ten-minute walk away. There are plenty of options for food, drinks, and shopping around the hotel, yet despite that, the hotel itself was very quiet and peaceful. The hotel breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of local Yunnan dishes and fruits. The staff were very attentive and made me feel very comfortable. The only thing I felt needed improvement was the incredibly popular beef pancake stall right outside the hotel. While the pancakes tasted great, the cooking fumes permeated the hotel lobby and even the elevators, which really isn't ideal for the image of a five-star hotel. The staff in the hotel lobby were very attentive and always greeted me warmly whenever I entered or left the hotel.

Our family trip to Yunnan was made even better by our wonderful stay at this hotel! 👍 We had a small incident where my husband lost his glasses, and when we mentioned it to the staff, they were incredibly helpful and managed to find them and even mailed them to us. We're so grateful for this trip to Kunming and look forward to coming back again. Thank you so much for your excellent service! 🫰

There was water at the hotel elevator entrance, and I almost slipped when getting out. Around 11:30 PM, I found a bug on the bed and asked the hotel how they would handle it. Their response was, 'How do *you* want to handle it? 😂' The hotel offered to spray pesticide and change the bedding, and suggested we continue staying. The duty manager came to deal with it and offered two solutions: 1. Change the bedding, check for more bugs, and if clear, we could continue staying. 2. Change rooms. We agreed to change rooms, but then they told us there were no rooms available and suggested moving us to another hotel instead. 😂 In the end, we moved to a different hotel ourselves. The hotel charged us for accommodation without providing a safe and hygienic environment.
