The bath was very comfortable, and there's a public open-air onsen that alternates between men and women daily. We booked the most basic room, which was sufficient for two people. The view from the window was lovely, with a red bridge visible. Breakfast was plentiful. However, the air conditioning was incredibly loud at night, and I didn't sleep well. Luggage storage was very convenient, and it's right next to the train line. Overall, pretty good.

The hotel is located in the most beautiful area of Unazuki Onsen, especially the river-view rooms, where you can see the red bridge from the window. The staff speak English well. Dinner is good but not very varied, as most of the menu consists of sushi. The breakfast queue is too long, but the selection is good, with a variety of sashimi. The Wi-Fi is poor. I couldn’t use it during my stay at the hotel.

Five-star rating all around! I was a bit worried the 2019 renovation might feel old, but it absolutely doesn't – everything feels very new. They offer a pick-up service from the train station, or it's just a 300m walk. Inside the hotel, there are English-speaking staff, making communication a breeze. The buffet dinner was also good. There aren't many dining options on the hot spring street; besides one BBQ place, it's mostly set menus and ramen, so the hotel buffet is a better choice. For lunch, I recommend the cafe by the entrance; both the cakes and drinks were delicious. Since we visited in winter, we didn't book the scenic train, but we did go to the ski resort, which was perfect for kids. The foot bath next to the train station was super hot and incredibly relaxing. This is a great place to stay for two nights.

The sashimi selection was also quite limited. Considering that this is the Toyama area by the sea, I was surprised that there was not much seafood available. This was my first time trying a Japanese-style futon, and the room was huge! Our family of four slept together, which was a fun and bonding experience. The meals were fantastic and plentiful, especially the grilled salmon and cod, which my kids and I loved. Soaking in the hot spring while watching the snow fall was incredibly enjoyable. I was also very impressed by the warm and attentive service from the front desk lady. We had a wonderful and pleasant three-day stay!
