Overall feel is dated but they tried to provide good service. Food was great, onsen was good, room was spacious.

This hotel was built in the 1980’s and has not been updated or renovated since then . Tired, musty, dark ,one lift and a long wait . Bedrooms are extremely dated and in need of a complete makeover. The bathroom was a prefab plastic box . The toilet was stained. Wallpaper badly marked. One minuscule pillow on the bed and when I asked for a second one at reception it appeared to be an absolute effort to locate any. Would not recommend. Overpriced for what you get . Pass through the area but do not stay .

Right next to Lake Akan with great view and large room. Easy access to pier where taking boat ride around the lake. Tourist spots are within walking distance.

Location is great as you get to wake up to a beautiful lakeside view of Lake Akan, close to Ainu craft plaza, and walkable to everything else. Like other posts mentioned, the facilities of this hotel, especially the rooms, felt a bit dated (I don’t remember seeing a rotary phone anymore). However, the room is big and comfortable, so I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is clean and everything works although the decor is dated. Food service is good and location is just next to the Lake Akan Cruise.

The hotel location is stragically located, can walk to Ainu village in few minutes, 300m away.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Gozensui in Lake Akan. The location is fantastic — the frozen lake and all the winter activities are just a short walk from the hotel. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, and even though English wasn’t widely spoken, they really tried their best to assist with anything we needed. Our room faced the lake and the view was beautiful, especially at night when we could watch the fireworks right from the room. A very memorable stay in Lake Akan.

A nice hotel albeit being a little old. Things and amenities are functional and not luxurious. We had “full board” but found the quality lacking compared to similar older hotels like Kamenoi. The car park at the rear is just metres away from the lake. The few piers there are great photo spots. We even spotted a fox and some deers there.

Right by Lake Akan, you can see the lake as soon as you open the window. This place offers great value for money at its price point.

The overall quality of the service provided was merely adequate, as were the available amenities and the accommodation itself. A particularly negative aspect of the experience was the evening meal, which proved to be quite unsatisfactory.

The hotel has a nice lobby but that is it. The rooms are very old and dated. Definitely needs update and maintenance. Amenities are almost non existent. The food is not good so don't get the package that includes breakfast and dinner. There's plenty of places nearby to eat for a better price and meal. The futons are thin and worn out. It gave us back pain, also there is no AC during the summer.

The Location and the view are amazing. But, it is an old hotel that desperately needs to be renovated.

A truly memorable traditional Japanese experience. This is a very traditional Japanese hotel where we had the opportunity to experience staying in a tatami-style room for the first time. It was a unique and enjoyable experience for our family, and one of the highlights of our trip. The hotel staff provided excellent service throughout our stay. The onsen was particularly impressive and was ranked by my family as the best among all the hotels we stayed at during our journey. The hotel enjoys a beautiful location directly in front of Lake Akan, allowing us to wake up to stunning lake views in the morning. The peaceful surroundings create a sense of serenity and make it a perfect place to relax and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The location is also very convenient. The Lake Akan sightseeing cruise is located right next to the hotel, while the Ainu Village, shops, and restaurants are all within easy walking distance. Our stay included a traditional Japanese-style dinner, which was a completely new experience for us. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family. Breakfast was also included, giving us the opportunity to sample a variety of Japanese dishes. Overall, this was a unique and unforgettable stay that allowed us to experience traditional Japanese culture, hospitality, and cuisine in a beautiful lakeside setting.

Hotel is aged, but well maintained. Location is good, my room is facing the beautiful Lake Akan. Room comes with a good Japanese dinner and buffet Japanese breakfast.
