They didn't mention that the Guest house is outside the hotel, need to pass by the beach to have access to the bar and restaurant... Feel completely forgotten, no room service, they make the room at 1:00PM ! So I had to do my own bed ! I lost my money by choosing this hotel, it's by far the most expensive and the worst compare to others hotel were i stayed.

we spent a week at Indigo Bay and it was excellent. Very quiet hotel and beach, good food and an incredible staff in service. On the day we arrived we had a problem in the room and Omar quickly solved the situation in the best way and did everything to make us feel good. In my opinion, only the bathrooms in the rooms need to be improved. Thank you Indigo Bay people for the days spent there Luísa

Highly recommended. The hotel is charming with a magnificent beach. If you are looking for a hotel with your toes in the sand concept with the warmth of the people, this is definitely the place to be. The food is very delicious, bungalows are very well maintained. Kudos to the team, we shall be back!

This hotel is locally rated as 5*, but more a 3*. Obviously they can charge more tourist tax as a 5*. The room in the guest house was ok but the shower room very primitive. The choice of wine was very limited, and they frequently ran out. The selection of tea was very limited, we even had to resort to drinking our own from the UK as had non other than herbal. The swimming pool was not ideal, with steep step into and no rails to hang on to. Not ideal for the less mobile or children. Certainly would not walk out of the hotel grounds. The whole Island needs some serious work and we have visited Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa. I cannot recommend the Island in truth at this time.

We spent 5 nights at Indigo Beach. We stayed in April, the rainy season. Very quiet period, little tourism but at the same time very relaxing. We would like to sincerely thank all the staff in particular: Rebecca, Omar, Catherine, Aisha, John and Anna and all the Masai. All very kind, helpful, smiling and very very welcoming people. A thousand thanks Greetings from Dalila and Paolo

Big thank you to the hotel team, Omar and co! The personal is very helpful, always smiling and kind. The garden suites doesn’t get air condition it is so important in the bed room, it was a nightmare for sleeping. No fridge also, water very hot each day. The beach has got a lot of algae but it was very quiet. We had only breakfast at hotel, thinking that we could eat near the hotel but nothing around, and the hotel did not propose a good price to have the half pension. It is better to take half pension before arriving there. Also please note that you will pay 5 usd per person and per night for tax on check-out, like a 5 stars hotel!!! Whereas Indigo beach is only a 3 stars hotel, it should be only 4 usd. The responsable of the hotel was not understandable.

Beautiful and exotic beach houses facing Paje beach sea front . Friendly staff , great atmosphere. This hotel is best for those wanting an intimate , romantic, quiet chilled out experience unlike some full on day and night life resorts . All their food is cooked and baked fresh . Amazing organic fresh juices served all day . Very professional admin and managing staff . Rebecca and Mary were great alongside all of the hotel staff .Evenings are entertaining with Masai dances and chants with privileges for guests to join in the traditional dances . Dinner is an outdoor beautifully decorated setting always with a bbq and grill with freshly made deserts Reception on arrival is 5star with a refreshing lemon grass tea and a cool towel . Zanzibar is a hot place and hotel would definitely do well with stalling some air on systems in rooms . I feel a few improvements could easily upgrade this 4 star resort to a 5 star . Highly recommend this resort

The Indigo Beach is a perfect spot to rest and relax at a beautiful beach location with all our needs catered to by super friendly staff who feel like family. We stayed in a two bedroom beach bungalow, it had a large comfortable open-fronted verandah/living room. The two bedrooms were spacious, the beds covered with mosquito nets that the staff closed and sprayed with mosquito repellent when they turned down the beds at night. The outdoor bathroom was a first time experience and very comfortable to shower and get ready in when the sun was going down. Some shading would be good for during the day though. The breakfast buffet had everything we needed and eggs cooked to order from the kitchen. The lunch menu has a lot of variety - salads, sandwiches, burgers, pizza etc. The dinner menu changed every night, a highlight was the barbecue buffet night with Masai show included. Finally the team at the Indigo! The standard of service and communication experienced at the Indigo is second to none and at a level that customer service organisations across the world strive to achieve. The reception team - Omar (senior) gives extra special care with Catherine, Rebecca and Omar (Junior) always willing to help and provide answers to any question asked, even if that meant getting in touch a bit later when the answer wasn’t immediately available. We asked if it might be possible to arrange an excursion to Stonetown for the same day, Rebecca made a phone call and a driver picked us up 20 minutes later!! $105 USD return with a 2 hour guided walking tour of Stonetown included!! Mr Combo who I think was the supervisor of the above reception team even repaired my glasses when a lense fell out - nothing was too much trouble for any of them. Whoever was on duty every morning and throughout the day checked the well being of all guests - their care and concern to make guests happy is genuine. The restaurant staff Upendo, Aisha, Mary, Fatima and Isaac ( plus one or two who’s names I can’t remember) were friendly, obliging, caring and just lovely people - they felt like true friends. The kitchen staff also engaged with the guests checking that we were satisfied with the food they provided. The Masai security staff, Asey, Dudy and the rest of the team kept us safe and helped with our bags etc. The whole team make the Indigo Beach what it is - an excellent resort in a beautiful location!

Never in my live I would recommend this hotel. The staff it’s not very friendly, the rooms are very very small and the food is not to good. Avoid this hotel, is my advice to you. It’s not to close to the village, it doesn’t have private beach and NO TOILET DOOR
