Seconda Stella Romantic Hideaway

I was expecting more... I arrived at 14:30. Thirty minutes after official check in time. Two empty welcome glasses were on the side while staff were on their phones. The owner came out to greet us which was a nice touch. The hotel is very relaxing. Music plays nicely in the background. The huts rest around the outside of the pool. Many photographic moments. The candle light dinner is beautiful. We stayed 1 night that was nice. The room is beautiful 😍 with an outside shower. The shower gel and cremes are wonderful. We loved it. We were invited to come back even for the food.

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Seconda Stella for 3 nights, and I’m completely in love with this place. It’s the perfect blend of boho-chic charm and luxury a true hidden gem! The rooms are immaculate, with every detail thoughtfully curated. The outdoor shower was a personal favorite such a unique and refreshing touch. Overall, the accommodation felt like a solid 5-star experience. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the owner, Ivan, who personally took the time to introduce me to the property. His hospitality is unmatched he truly goes out of his way to ensure every guest feels like a VIP. The staff were equally incredible ,warm, attentive, and always ready to help. Honestly, service here deserves a 10/10. During my stay, I enjoyed two spa treatments and I can’t recommend them enough. The spa setting is tranquil and serene, and the therapist was exceptional. If you're visiting, don’t skip the spa! And let’s not forget the food ,fresh, flavorful, and inclusive of all dietary needs. I especially loved the healthy options and the creative flair in every dish. This hotel is truly unique, and I cannot wait to return. I am disgusted by the experience I had at this hotel and request a refund of the food items and the accomodation I had during my stay at Seconda Stella. I stayed there from 27 Feb 2024 - 25 Mar 2024. In March 2024 I paid over £1000 to eat at the restaurant which was filthy and I had to complain several times over the quality of the food. In addition I paid a further £390.55 as I was checking out to cover the rest of the bill at the restaurant which I had to pay for and spent £2,504.69 in a room that did not look like anything depicted on ******* or Trip Advisor. I asked to speak to the manager about my room because I was unhappy with the small room they gave me and he put me in a different room however the bathroom shower was not working and I complained about it and they said there was nothing they can do. Many times throughout my stay I was unable to use the shower. I had issues throughout my whole stay there in 4 weeks where my door would not lock, the shower was not working and I experienced poor customer service. I was travelling alone as a single woman and my door was left unlocked during my stay because they would not fix my door. The technician trying to fix my door was unable to do so and I have to stay at the property for several days where he attempted to fix my door and was unable to do so. In addition to this there was no WiFi at the hotel and it kept failing which made it impossible to do my work and work from home which was highly distressing. The staff where rude and disrespectfully informal after the cost of my entire stay in Zanzibar cost almost £5,000 in total; and I had to deal with mostly incompetence and the manager being absent. They were unprofessional and did not provide professional customer service. Most of the food during the day I would attempt to order and the waiters will say the food was unavailable and could not be prepared and many of the items on the menu where not available to order. In addition to this lack of meals unavailable to order despite being on the menu, the waiters would say lie and say that some ingredients where unavailable which meant that the food was very inconsistent and the same meal would vary in quality and not be the same meal that I paid for. I was charged many times for poor quality that tasted expired and moldy. The food was very poor quality and tasted off and moldy with many of it having to be thrown away. It has taken me months to make a formal complaint about this travel experience as I have been working and speaking to my bank and consumer right protection agencies about some of the experiences travelling in Zanzibar one of them being the airline service and hotel. I want a refund of my stay in Seconda Stella. I have contacted the hotel numerous times and they are refusing to refund me or issue a partial refund.

The hotel is totally a scam,the pictures portrayed on the internet is nothing compared to reality,the hotel is very disorganized it was surely a disappointment.I wouldn't advice anyone to go,i wanted a refund immediately i saw how it was but they refused to refund me.
