The location of this hotel is ideal, adjacent to two beautiful beaches (so if one was windy we could jump to the other). It is an older style institution and we chose a "bungalow" in traditional style, set in very attractive gardens. Maybe some updates will happen in due course; in hot weather it should be good but in less hot weather with a lot of rain, having the clothing mini-wardrobe based in a bathroom without a fan made us aware of damp. The staff are very good and helpful, both at the hotel itself and and its adjacent bar and restaurant which had excellent buffet breakfasts and a reasonable range of options for dinner and some for lunch. It was good too that the hotel provided their own cars for hire. Balancing facilities and price this seemed to best option for the island.

We stayed in a “comfort bungalow” for 4 nights. I would recommend getting breakfast included and filling up on the pastries, baguettes, fruit and hot food as the island is very expensive. We also brought snacks from the mainland and had dinner at the hotel. The room was a good size, clean and with air con and a small fridge. The location is spectacular- right on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The hotel also has a shuttle bus leaving at 1030 or 1300 to the “natural aquarium” at Oro Bay ( and back at 1500 for XPF 2780 pp. definitely worth the trip at least once. We would stay here again

My partner and I stayed here for 6 nights and absolutely loved it. The rooms are decent and well maintained, and the breakfast included is super yum. It's all made fresh every morning and there is more than enough for every type of breakfast person. The staff are super lovely and kind, and made our stay extra special. We were nervous when booking this accommodation because a lot of the reviews were old and also not very positive. I would say that most the reviews are pretty harsh, and it's a great place with the BEST resort beach. It's super sheltered from the wind and it's access to another beach enables loooong beach strolls. If you're looking for a comfortable room in a beautiful resort (with a great breakfast) at a reasonable price, this is a great option. Something to note that EVERYTHING in Iles Des Pines is about 2-3 times more expensive than Numea. So be prepared to pay a premium for anything you spend money on. Pro tip, there's a mini bar fridge in each room and we bought our own food and snacks from Numea. This helped with expenses and gave us another option other than the hotel dinner. Would recommend, and would stay again.

We ate at the restaurant for dinner during our stay on the Isle of Pines. A very nice surprise, the meal was super good from starter to dessert! The pina colada is delicious! We liked the service and the welcome even if we did not sleep at the hotel. I recommend !

Pleasant stay, the strong point of the establishment is the location, sunset a few steps from the hotel and breakfast facing the sea. The rooms are aging but they remain pleasant. The staff is welcoming and available. Possibility of showering in the transit bungalow (bungalow with two showers available to hotel guests who have already checked out) before taking the Betico, very practical. Possibility to rent a car. Arriving from Betico, the hotel is a 10-minute walk away.

Nice place and very well located. The staff are pleasant. Excellent bedding. The restaurant is doing well. The breakfast is expensive but very filling. The sunsets are magnificent. I recommend to spend a few days there.

We did everything to honor our reservation at the Kou Bugny hotel. We had bought tickets for a departure with Betico on 08/01/23. The rotation was canceled due to weather (strong tropical depression). Therefore we went directly to the Magenta aerodrome to buy on the spot to buy 7 plane tickets. After checking in the baggage and waiting for 2 hours, Air Calédonie canceled the flight. We were fully reimbursed by Betico and Air Calédonie. On the other hand, Destination Îles des Pins and the management of the KOU BUGNY hotel have granted themselves the right by contract not to reimburse me in full but to retain 30% of the service. We explained our impossibility to reach the Isle of Pines but in vain ..... Avoid at all costs Destination Îles des Pins and Kou Bugny, in case of cancellation they will systematically take 30% of your money.

Family weekend to end our stay in NC and the happiness of returning to the Isle of Pines! Having known this hotel in 2014, it is true that it is aging but the site is so beautiful! Clean and pleasant bungalow and yes the staff is smiling and efficient, cot installed. Agree for the insufficient lighting especially upstairs! Saturday evening buffet very good, varied and plentiful, the same for breakfast. The least is the Sunday meal, we thought we'd have a snack after the excursion to Brush Island, unfortunately there was none! With children not the time and the courage to look elsewhere, so we had to take the Buffet which is overpriced for the whole thing, we took the Buffet entrée which was a little cheaper... but a lot of leftovers from the Buffet de the day before !!! So not cool! The staff is always friendly in the restaurant! It is true that everything is very expensive even a simple bottle of mtDore water!!! Well it's a shame but the area is so beautiful that we go over a lot of details...and then we don't really have a choice!!!
