I liked the place. The bed was comfortable, it was also quiet. The shower rooms and toilets are clean. There is a small balcony to dry clothes. Laundry room is available. Gion is just amazing. There are nice bars around and other scenic spots. In the evening, you can see maiko and geiko. Finally, the staff is very nice. Was cool to speak putonghua with them.

It’s in a lovely little laneway near everything in Gion. Would be nice if they could turn off the beeping noise the door makes to the dorm every time someone opens/closes it.

It a lttle bit hard to find this hostel.
But all facility is good. It located at Geisha tea cafe, so sometime I can see some geisha around there.

The bed in the room felt uncomfortable because the top of the upper mattress could be seen from the lower bunk, and I was worried something might fall off. The sheets, cleanliness, and common areas were acceptable. I appreciated the small storage space provided for food in the kitchen for each bed. However, there were moldy black spots in the toilet, suggesting the cleaning wasn't thorough. Initially, when I called for help, the woman who answered seemed rude, perhaps because she had a ********* accent. I wondered if she was a young receptionist who had only been there a week. When I asked her upon arrival, she said it couldn't be her and the front desk didn't have a phone!
To do laundry, you have to go through the shared tatami room. The frequent opening and closing of the door was a bit noisy, and the tatami room was also a bit messy. Sitting on the tatami, it didn't feel very clean. The room layout didn't seem to consider space for large suitcases; I wasn't the only one who tripped and bumped into things in the dark at night while climbing the bed ladder with my suitcase. The room should allow the use of shared nightlights to prevent accidents. The shower room was well-equipped, and the hot and cold water shower was comfortable. The hairdryer seemed a bit weak. When staying in mixed-gender accommodations, you need to consider your own safety. I used a reading light with a pillow to keep my eyes open, and my bag as a pillow. Bring extra disposable toilet seat covers. Japanese accommodations don't have squat toilets. Disposable face towels and small sample items are provided. Free ice is available in the kitchen; you can make your own iced wipes in plastic bags in the morning!
I recommend a 160-square-meter old house in the alley. This street used to be frequented by geisha. You can tour the old house for 2000 yen, have a "tea ceremony," and take photos wearing the owner's collection of kimono jackets. Personally, I think this is one of the advantages of staying at this guesthouse. Another advantage is its proximity to the river; evening walks are a great option. The restaurants on both sides of the river look quite nice, although there's an extra charge for terrace seating… The hotel's added value lies in its surrounding environment, restaurants, and convenience!

Used this place when I was traveling to Kyoto. The staff are from China and speak English better than Japanese. The atmosphere is very nice, but it has a completely foreign dormitory feel so if you're not used to it you might be surprised at first. The location and price are great so I'll definitely be coming back.

The boss lady is *********, lovely and enthusiastic. I am an 18-year-old college student from mainland China, traveling to Japan alone. The boss lady is very polite, but remember to exchange 200 yen in cash as a deposit for the boss lady in advance. It is clean, tidy and comfortable. You can cook and take a shower by yourself.

It is located on the street of Gion, so you can feel the atmosphere of Kyoto's alleys.
It was used more by Westerners than Asians.

The boss is very enthusiastic, speaks Mandarin, is very friendly, and the location is very good. Maybe it is the peak season for traveling in Kyoto, so the room is a little expensive.

I almost couldn't get in. I had to enter a password to enter. However, I didn't receive an email to inform me in advance. Fortunately, other guests came out, otherwise I don't know how long I would have to wait. The innkeeper's wife was very indifferent. When I tried to chat with her, the response was extremely cold and there was no atmosphere. Fortunately, there is a British The staff liked chatting and we went to a nightclub together in the evening
