Overall, I'm satisfied. The new wing is beautiful. The hotel lobby and cafe complement each other perfectly, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The room we got wasn't very big, with just a small bay window area for relaxation. It had a record player, which added a nice touch to the ambiance. The garden in the new wing is absolutely stunning!

Best stay at Ace Hotel Kyoto. Loved everything—the design, decor, service, room details, and all the thoughtful little touches. Location was spot on. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

The hotel is very well composed. I really enjoy the spacious lobby and common area. The room is very cozy with warm colour and carefully chosen selections of supplies.

The hotel design are quite unique and good architectures. The room size and balcony just correctly setup, even open up our two biggest size luggage still can walk within.thhe room. Room is clean. The breakfast served in a very small portion (if for a adult) and unable to request for any additional.

The rooms feature a modern design with wooden furniture, and the hotel environment is very pleasant. The lobby's public areas offer lounge sofas and coffee tables, as well as shared co-working desks, catering to various guest needs. It feels very vibrant, suitable for both leisure and business travelers. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent, and the bedding is extremely comfortable. The hotel's overall architecture, with its red bricks and black grid windows, is both classic and contemporary, blending well with Kyoto's traditional wooden building style. The first floor houses a stylish small shopping center, Shinfukan, with trendy brands, which is quite interesting. I would definitely choose to stay here again. I'd love to know the brand of the mattresses and pillows, my daughter really enjoyed them!

The location is great, right near Karasuma Station. The hotel itself is new and stylishly designed. They even have a record player in the room! For this price, it's excellent value for money. The hotel's location makes it convenient to get anywhere, and there are many charming Kyoto-style neighborhoods nearby. I especially loved the breakfast spots around there. The staff were also very enthusiastic. A really good experience overall.

The hotel's overall design has a very vintage feel. Its location is super convenient, right above the intersection of two Kyoto subway lines. The hotel and room facilities are generally good. However, the historic figure room we booked was a bit noisy due to being close to the main road, and the windows couldn't be opened.

The hotel is located in Karasuma Oike, right above Shinpukan and Karasuma Oike Station, making it super convenient for shopping and dining. Within a ten-minute walk, there are many local shops, which I highly recommend checking out.

Ace Hotel Kyoto is Ace Hotels' (a trendy luxury hotel brand from New York) first venture into Asia. The hotel is housed in the former Kyoto Central Telephone Office, a building originally constructed during the Taisho era, and was redesigned by the renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. The design beautifully preserves the building's historical essence while seamlessly blending American lifestyle with Japanese sophistication. The hotel is part of the 'Shinpukan' complex, with shops on the ground floor and direct subway access from the basement. The in-room guitar and record player are major highlights, and the overall design attention to detail is impressive. There's a small gym on the second floor, but no swimming pool. The ground floor features the famous American Stumptown Coffee. Breakfast is a set menu, and the food is delicious. The service from all departments is warm and attentive.

The transportation is quite convenient, and there are many places worth exploring nearby.

Staying at the Ace Hotel Kyoto, nestled in Kengo Kuma's woven world, during my business trip was an experience. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, the room was perfectly soundproofed, and I highly recommend their bath products!

Stayed for eight nights in a duplex suite. I'm including some indoor photos of this room type for those interested, as other users have already shared plenty of pictures of the hotel's public areas. Despite being called a 'duplex,' it's actually a single-story room, but it is genuinely spacious. The ceiling height in the old building is impressively high, which didn't feel uncomfortable at all. Both the interior and exterior of the hotel are well-designed. The only quirk with the suite is a door in the bedroom that opens directly into the hallway, leading right to the gym. The bed by the window, in the twin room, faces a wardrobe with a mirror. Underneath the other bed, there's some kind of square opening, like an escape hatch or something... Anyway, I didn't sleep well the first night because of it, but I adapted later, haha. I was probably just too tired to overthink it! I was initially worried about noise, but aside from the occasional sports car outside, the building itself is incredibly quiet. Once you enter the individual hallway in the old building, it's silent. The gym was right next to me, but it caused no disturbance whatsoever. Guests generally seem quite considerate, with no excessive noise. The facilities are decent. There are two bathrooms, and housekeeping is prompt, provided you hang out the 'please clean' sign, haha. The laundry service is a bit slow; it takes until the next day for items to be returned. Dining is also good. We didn't opt for breakfast but paid for it once – I recommend the Japanese option. We also tried the Italian restaurant in the hotel, which was acceptable. The coffee downstairs became my daily hydration; it's convenient, and the lobby always has a lively, youthful atmosphere from morning till night. The service is pretty good too; English proficiency is excellent. I initially considered staying at some traditional luxury hotels for a few days, but I really love the Karasuma area. I'll likely return to Ace next time. The suite price is also more acceptable compared to places like the Ritz, especially since we usually stay for longer periods and prefer not to switch hotels mid-trip.
