Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kyoto-Hachijoguchi

The hotel is a 3-minute walk from the airport shuttle stop, and there's a Lawson convenience store right downstairs. They provide a self-service selection of toiletries (makeup remover, facial cleanser, toner, lotion), sunscreen, face masks, toothpaste, and coffee/tea bags. You can even borrow a curling iron for free. Just a heads-up, the slippers in the room are eco-friendly, reusable ones, not disposable. Breakfast is served from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM, and the menu changes daily.

I stayed for five days and had breakfast there every morning. I also used the self-service laundry twice. There were tourists from many different countries, including Japan, which was nice. It's a great hotel, and the rooms are quite spacious. The breakfast menu changed daily and offered a Japanese home-style flavor. The self-service laundry on the first floor was really convenient; you just scan to pay with Alipay. It takes about half an hour to wash and another half an hour to dry. There's also an ice machine and a vending machine for drinks. A Lawson convenience store is right next door, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Kyoto Station is only about a 5-minute walk, even with waiting for traffic lights. The hotel also provides toiletries like facial cleanser, lotion, and toner on the first floor for guests to take, along with small maps introducing the surrounding area.

It was raining when I went to Kyoto, but thankfully the hotel provided umbrellas. For four people, they gave us two interconnected rooms. One room was a bit small and couldn't fit a suitcase, but the other one had plenty of space. The amenities were good, including lotion and tea. The location is super convenient – it's only about 100 meters from where the airport bus drops you off, and the nearest subway entrance is just 50 meters away. This was great, especially with the rain, because Kyoto Station's underground shopping area is fantastic to explore.

The hotel is super close to the subway station, which is great. However, the cleaning staff are all foreigners and very noisy. Every day from 10 AM, they start chatting loudly in their language outside. I don't know why they need to be so loud when cleaning. The vacuum cleaner is also incredibly noisy. And after 12 PM, they won't clean your room. So, the overall experience was just okay. They also charge separately for both washing and drying, and it's not cheap.

Really great. The hotel was clean, and honestly, I didn't expect much from an inn, but I was pleasantly surprised. The transportation was quite convenient, all the facilities were complete, disposable amenities were plentiful, and breakfast was good.
