Good location near a train station, 7eleven nearby, and bus ride away from the historic side. Wonderful stay and great service.

Overall very nice, just that maybe the room is abit small as when other travellers out their luggage and other is no space to walk in the room.

The place was impeccably clean, and the service was outstanding. Despite a mix-up with my reservation, they were incredibly understanding and accommodating, which made my trip to Kyoto truly enjoyable. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Facilities: This place is a guesthouse converted from a detached house. It looked decent from the outside, but my hopes plummeted the moment I stepped inside. They charged for towels and even for luggage storage! While it operates somewhat like a capsule hotel, for the same price, it doesn't even come close to a proper one. Capsule hotels, at least, offer free towels, other disposable amenities, and luggage storage, and they usually ensure a quiet environment. Cleanliness: It was acceptable; I generally find Japanese hotels to be excellent in this regard. Environment: This is truly a 'minshuku' (guesthouse); don't let its formal-sounding name trick you into thinking it's a proper hotel or inn. And all these uniformly positive reviews? I have to ask, did you have a terrible experience yourself and now wish for others to fall into the same trap? What I found most intolerable was the noise. From 9 PM to 11 PM, several girls were loudly chatting and laughing in the living room right next to the bedrooms. Don't they consider that other guests need to sleep? Even with earplugs, the racket was so intense it was startling. The guesthouse staff made no effort to intervene. Out of all the accommodations I've stayed at, this was by far the noisiest, indicating a clear failure in management. Service: The front desk staff were Westerners, and they were very friendly and polite. I've spent at least a week in Japan and stayed at numerous hotels, and this was, without a doubt, the absolute worst. No towels, no disposable amenities, and it was incredibly noisy at night.

Dont miss the rooftop great place to be. friendly staff and really clean space.

Had a really good stay. Fellow guests were very quiet, and the owner was incredibly welcoming and polite. The environment was clean and well-maintained. The only minor downsides were that the bunk beds were a bit creaky, and there was some train noise from outside the window.

The owner is incredibly warm and friendly. They even studied in China and speak excellent Chinese! The overall environment is quite clean and hygienic.

The owner was unprofessional, incredibly impatient, clearly only interested in money, and completely devoid of any human touch or warmth.

I have stayed here with my friends 7 years ago and we definitely liked it. This is the reason why I decided on this solo trip of mine in Kyoto to choose the same accommodation. ❤️ same quality and comfort!
