As per the title: the view is everything. Lounging on its pool deck (for hotel guests only) makes one feel on top of the world. Room was beautifully appointed and efficiently laid out. Front Desk team, especially Coraline who checked us in, really made our day with her beyond-her-duties attitude. We wanted to get the beautiful pastries from Haitza but didn't really want to take the shuttle ourselves to go there. Coraline ordered for us and put the bill to our room AND delivered those delicious goodies to the pool where we were. Bravo Coraline! Those alone made up for a few short comings: 1. services were uneven. While Coraline went above and beyond, the restaurant staffs were just sad: a. we were not allowed to sit early for dinner despite being a hotel guest and she rudely shooed us away. b. when we wanted some sweets from Haitza, another restaurant staff just looked at us blankly with no solution. We went to Coraline and got everything sorted. 2. for such a hotel, food was actually mediocre. Haitza, the sister property, has a much better food offerings. 3. pool was awkwardly located: swimming becomes part of restaurant guests' entertainment. Tips: go only during weekdays. On weekend nights, the restaurant is turned into a disco: it's noisy, crowded and open to public.

Exceptional location, which brings the crowds flocking. A must visit for the views. I would recommend caution if you stay as the customer service is very poor for guests. We’ve stayed at the Corniche a few times and sadly the service doesn’t match other 5* venues across France. When you stay at an establishment such at this you pay a premium and you’d expect service to match. Sadly the La Corniche has really failed to get the staff to understand their competition. Having stayed at many 5* venues in France that know how to service guests this Hotel has slipped hugely. Orders are often forgotten by the poolside, on three occasions we’ve chased our orders. Food arrived sporadically, when hosting guest for dinner Such a shame as the settings immense. But a Hotel is about experience not just the view.

Disappointing service, you had to turn around constantly to get the waiter's attention, no more smiles as before, no more thoughtfulness. You have to ask everything yourself. The quality of the wines has changed. The Chablis at 10 euros a glass is worthy of a bottle at 5 euros at the supermarket. Outdoor terrace with lots of people / two waiters…Not enough for good service. I was going to consume more, but unable - again - to get the waiter's attention, I left. It's really bad for a business when people WANT to spend more, but they leave, because you're tired of attracting the attention of staff. And what's even worse is that it really seems to bother them …How do you make your margin with such an attitude? You don't have a food and beverage manager who is on duty and monitors all this? It doesn’t look like there is one… The staff seem to be doing their own little thing.. The pretty view of the Bay, what is it good for? When the experience is ruined by this kind of service? It used to be a distinguished place and full of care and attention before. Apparently it's over. In the United States or in England, in places like that, as soon as your glass is empty for a few minutes, they come to see YOU and ask you if you want anything else. Not the other way around.

We visited the restaurant for dinner, we were not staying at the hotel. If you want good views it’s fabulous but food mediocre at best. We ordered a cote de boeuf and it arrived after a very long wait stone cold, sent it back and it was flash fried so came out incredibly chewy, by this point we were starving and with our 4 year old so had little option but to eat go. We said we were unhappy and were offered a free drink, but not really good enough when you’re paying a bill of €300 for 2 adults and a child. The starter of oysters was very good but mains were over priced average food. The manager was pretty argumentative, the staff were running around like crazy and kicked over our €50 bottle of wine which was on the floor due to our tiny table and no wine holder.

Very nice place, one of the most trendy place we did so far in the area. Very beautiful view over the sea and the dune du Pyla. The dining area was nice. We regretted that despite the fact we arrived the first in the restaurant they didn’t manage to give us nicer place… it wasn’t an incredible thing to access but the lack of will was not nice. Nevertheless the cocktails were nice, so was the the royal player and the lobster. It was expensive though and you pay for the step up and the localisation

Fantastic place next to Pyla dyne. We felt ourselves warmly welcome by very friendly staff. Our room was cozy, magnificent sea-view from balcony. Extra credit from us to pillows:) And the restaurant... both dinner and breakfast were just like in heaven.

Me and my husband had lunch there on a nice sunny day and we absolutely loved it! Delicious food, attentive waiters, amazing view across Banc d’Arguin , Cap Ferret and the Dune. Try their « café gourmand » if you love desserts !

This hotel is very unique and quirky but wonderful. The views are amazing, the restaurant is superb, and the staff are overall very good. The rooms are a little quirky but very nice and despite having a room over the restaurant/ bar it had a beautiful view. I give the hotel credit in warning us the restaurant/ bar stays open late with loud music and we booked regardless. It is loud but I would do it again and I really appreciate the honesty in the hotel warning us. Room was lovely and breakfast on the patio overlooking the sea was nice. You are right next to the dune and close to the beach. Overall if you are in this area this hotel is a must.

A truly exceptional hotel - stunning setting, great restaurant , faultless service - kind and welcoming. Rooms are great too, somewhat quirky but spacious and nice. Some with beautiful views. Make sure you book a table close to the dune for sundowners, and by the pool for dinner, then join the happy crowd at the bar.
