We stayed for 3 nights during a recent tour of Chiapas. It is quaint, has old world charm and is very quiet. As mentioned, the rooms are all different with antiques. Food and drinks are good and the staff is friendly. The grounds are beautiful. We did not see the museum as it was locked the whole time we were there. Cons; - beds are very firm, bathroom is old and rooms smell musty - office and kitchen/ bar are closed at 8 pm. There is no coffee in the room and none available until between 8-9 am.. Although breakfast was supposed to start at 8, we didn’t see staff nor were able to order food until 9. This was a problem with tours, early risers and checking out - lighting is very dim - hot tub not working and no chairs around the pool - you are very isolated and there are no locks on the rooms. There is nothing nearby for restaurants. You are out in the country. Definitely not the place to stay if you need night life Some people will really love the ambience as mentioned by another reviewer and some will miss the conveniences. There are no TVs. Regardless, its a unique and interesting place to stay !
