Wyndham Lake Charles

hotel was very elegant. they charge a $25 deposit upon check-in per day. they are also doing renovations so if you don’t mind this hotel is in a decent location close to stores & food places

It was only ok. Water back up in both drains and elevators didn’t work. Staff was nice, courteous and helpful though. Cook called in sick all days we stayed, so no hot breakfast.

Multiple light bulbs needed replacing in my room. Also, it would be nice for the front desk to sell incidentals like contact lense solution. I forgot mine and hoped to buy some from the hotel.

We expected more from a Wyndham, but it seems to have been a Holiday Inn that was painted and rebranded. Literally, furniture was painted but it’s peeling off and sticky. Chips in tub and toilet. Not what we expected.

Well, let’s start at the beginning. Check-in is at 3 we got there at 3:30 PM and I was told the room wasn’t ready. I would have to come back in 30 minutes to an hour. Gave them my information to see if they can call me when the room was ready at 4:30 I called to see if the room was ready because I never got a phone call from them.They said no never received a call and got back around 6 o’clock. At this time, I never received a call from them got the room key only to get to the room and to find NO soap or towels in the restroom smh .. got to the front desk to let them know and they acted like they have no sense and guidance asked to talk to the manager and the front desk manager said I’m only the front desk manager. I will have the general manager call you and do you think I got that call heck no!! There’s only so much you can let go but when you pay $170 a night you would expect better customer service from the front desk regardless of how busy they were the night before they need to do better and management needs to do way better to train their employees!!

When I arrived to check in, I was told the room had not been paid for yet. I tried to contact you but had no number. It took me almost an hour to get past all of the AI part of your website and phone system and talk to anyone to help. Due to my husband's medical issues, I had to pay for the room within that time to be able to get him in a room. When I finally got a live person on the phone, I was told you would check in to it, and MAYBE issue a refund.

The only good part of this hotel Is that the staff are friendly. The room itself felt very dingy. It was wiped down (sort of) but did not feel clean. The bathroom mirror was dirty, corners weren’t wiped out, and everything had dust or grime on it. The TV had one channel that worked but if you tried to change the channel, it went to a fuzzy screen. I unplugged the bedside lamp to plug in my phone charger and the outlet plate completely fell apart. There was not one trash can in the room, including in the bathroom. They have fixed bottles of Dove bottles in the shower but I can say with certainty that the body wash was not actual Dove soap. I didn’t test out the shampoo/conditioner. The housekeepers leave their cleaning carts in the middle of the hallway for you to shimmy around them. A bigger person would not be able to do this. The room also has no phone which I understand isn’t quite a necessity these days but I found it strange. When I booked the hotel, it mentioned breakfast was included but there is zero information in the room to let you know about what’s offered and times. While the staff was friendly, they also did not provide any helpful details about hotel offerings. The whole experience was so subpar and the room left much to be desired. I only had to stay one night. Otherwise, I would have ended up looking for something else.

Building was run down, free breakfast was bagels, toast, cereal. Bathroom was dirty, elevator broke down. Will never stay here again.
