"Haka House Lake Tekapo is an ideal base for exploring the area such as the Church of the Good Shepherd, Dark sky project and stargazing. A highly desirable location for visiting Lake Tekapo and watching the sunset. Modern facilities with a clean, comfortable, and cozy feel. Convenient for viewing the night sky although tiny sleep spaces are more of a functional stay in a high-demand area. I splurged a bit on this accommodation due to its proximity to the beauty of nature. There are no regrets."

"Man, this stay was just marvellous. Beautiful and stunning lake views from Lake Tekapo. And as soon as I step out, I'm met with a million stars staring back at me. Definitely a stay that will be memorable. I stayed in the 2 bed room and it was super spacious. 10/10 stay with my partner."

"Stayed 2 nights at One Bedroom Lakeview Suite. Room was great and clean, with a fully equipped kitchen (pots pans utensils etc). The bathroom was clean and spacious, room comes with a functioning washer + dryer. Overall a happy stay!"

"Very nice location, good for relaxing, 1 km from town center, but so close to the lake by just crossing the street. I would love to stay longer next time. If you reach late at night, it’s better to contact hotel in advance and ask for map and photos of your room location before. I arrived very late at night from Christchurch (changed transit flight from Auckland). It took me awhile to understand the map, room location and where to park. It was just 1 day after new moon. So, it was very dark. It’s hard for me to figure out the scale of the place and I didn’t see the small cabin at the back from the street."

"We loved the hotel. The room was clean and tidy and everything was in place. Just a 10 minutes walk down the road and we are at the lake. The beds are comfy and the night is quiet. I noticed there is another occupant in the other part of the room. If I were to stay for a couple more days, I would love to book the entire place. We could hear the people on the other side of the house but it was still pleasant to stay. It is spacious and the kitchenette was good. I read reviews that it was like an oven in summer, but it was okey with us because the weather wasn't hot and the clouds covered the sky which was a disappointment to my star gazing activity....all the way there...UNESCO night sky reserved...unable to see a single star."
