The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa

The facilities are old; the power strip was falling off, and the sofa had noticeable stains. The breakfast wasn't good either. However, the location is quite decent, the scenery is beautiful, and the service was excellent.

Objective review: Pros: Most hotel staff were warm, friendly, and enthusiastic. The location boasts beautiful scenery, with wildlife nearby, and it's very close to the jetty. There are also many dining options in Kuah Town. The spa was excellent, though a bit pricey! Cons: The hotel's facilities are outdated, and cleanliness was just average. The toilet had a slight odor, and the sheets had stains, which I later asked staff to replace. The biggest issue is the soundproofing. If you're easily stressed or a light sleeper, seriously consider my advice and avoid this hotel. Perhaps I was unlucky, but for four nights, a Middle Eastern family with two crying children stayed across from us, and their wailing continued past midnight. It was truly frustrating. Thankfully, the platform provided timely feedback and intervention, and the hotel manager offered some gifts and earplugs, but there were still several difficult hours at night. I think a better solution would have been to help us move to a more suitable room, but the manager refused, stating that twin rooms were fully booked. This is definitely incomparable to hotels with excellent service awareness in China. Another major pitfall: The seafood at the hotel's restaurant, Tide, was not fresh and very expensive. Definitely avoid it; don't take my word for it, go try it yourself. My daughter had diarrhea that night, and the hotel later offered some discount compensation. Communicating with foreigners is exhausting, so I won't dwell on it. Finally, since this was a family trip, we focused more on the happy moments. Despite the imperfections, let's just think less about them~ I wish everyone gets to see the beautiful natural scenery of Langkawi.

The room was comfortable overall, a little dated, but perfectly acceptable. The back door offered direct beach access, which was very convenient, though the water wasn't particularly clear, with lots of seaweed and broken shells. The hotel's natural environment was excellent, very refreshing with plenty of oxygen, and lots of monkeys around. It was a very relaxing stay overall.

The environment is beautiful, and the hotel boasts multiple swimming pools. The hotel restaurant also serves delicious food. With its own private beach, a sunset stroll on the soft sand is truly the perfect way to enjoy a vacation!

Overall, I was very satisfied with the Westin Langkawi. The environment and service were excellent. The breakfast staff remembered our names and preferences every morning, and proactively helped us find a sea-view table by the window. The hotel's ecosystem is great, with many monkeys appearing in the evening. The main pool has an amazing view, and there's a very private adult pool near The St. Regis. The beachfront Tide restaurant has a wonderful ambiance, especially beautiful in the evening, and the staff are very enthusiastic. Sitting in the semi-indoor, semi-outdoor area, enjoying the 'blue hour' and delicious food, was incredibly pleasant, though it did get a bit warm later on. The downsides are that the room facilities are a bit old and the bathroom is small, but it was generally clean and tidy, so it was still acceptable. The hotel design is very good; rooms on both sides of the main building can directly access the breakfast restaurant, and a short flight of stairs leads to the lobby. Stepping outside immediately takes you to the path to the pool. Overall, the stay was satisfying. The hotel's location is convenient, and it's easy to get to Kuah Town for island hopping.
