Villas de la Marina

It pains me to write this review because the staff of Villas de la Marina are wonderful and very responsive; however, I feel I owe it to future travelers to give a current assessment of this property. This place is tired and in dire need of a remodel. It was probably nice when first built, but the pictures do not represent the current state of the property. Worn furniture, a bit of mold in bathroom, paint job needed throughout. Place is simply run down (at least the villa we stayed in was). Needless to say, I was very disappointed from the moment I walked in the door. There is also major construction going on right next to the property that is loud and creates a ton of dust - made it not feasible to enjoy the outdoor pool or patio. I unfortunately do not recommend this property.

Need to try harder -- the villas are very Ikea in style but they do need to be revamped.In parts need painting and the curtains are past there best as is the sette and two chairs in the lounge-- they are not comfortable at all.Bedrooms and kitchen are all ok with a nice welcome pack on arrival.Pool was great but the main problem was Villas 1 -2 -3 back onto a main road with cars , buses and lorrys going past --not very quiet. Sorry to be very critical but villas are not cheap to rent and should be looked after.Location wise very near supermarket and the Rubicon Marina.

We recently stayed in Villa 6 at Villas De La Marina for a week. From start to finish our experience has been just perfect. Not only are the facilities and cleanliness of the villa outstanding but also the communication and information you receive for your stay. Any questions or queries you have are answered promptly, we even added on an extra guest to our stay and this was done very easily. The villa itself is huge! For a family of 3 it was more than enough space with every kitchen/livingroom/bedroom item you need. We are already considering coming back next year. The location is also ideal. Just a 5 minute walk to the marina with a few shops and lovely restaurants. Thank you for an amazing stay in an amazing villa!

Fantastic Villa, great location for the marina, sops, bars, restaurants and beaches. Lovely pool and balcony with a sea view. We upgraded for a sea view but the other villas also had one so I wouldn’t bother next time. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent hosts who sort any issues immediately. We will definitely return, great base for playa blanca.

Just returned from our 4th visit to Villas de la Marina and it was just as great as our other visits. The staff are fantastic, from initial booking to departure. booking is easy online. Contact at anytime during the process from booking until departure is fast and efficient. A courtesy message before arrival and a visit on first day is reassuring any help required is always available. The villas are immaculate and necessities are provided (useful if arriving late). All instructions are provided online which is much better than out of date manuals (in my opinion). The pool heating for the colder months especially is so much appreciated and they are the most effective heated pools we've experienced in Lanzarote. Location for Rubicon is perfect and Marina Rubicon is perfect for us. Thanks once again to the Villas de la Marina team (including Victor) the gardener. We really enjoyed our stay at this villa. It’s much better quality than the average tourist villa in these islands. Positives: - spacious - quiet area on a safe street - 5 minute walk to upmarket marina with many restaurants, shops, and watersport options - 5 minute walk to mall with supermarket, coffee shops and bowling alley - Netflix - great internet downstairs - very comfortable downstairs furniture - tasteful aesthetic - comfortable beds with choice of pillows plus oversheet and duvet - very secure, with a lockable gated parking space - warm pool - big kitchen - spotlessly clean - very friendly and responsive management who immediately answered our questions during the stay Negatives - the double bed is quite small (I think 1.5m wide). It’s odd in a villa of this standard not to have a King size bed and we found this difficult as we’re used to a King. - wifi upstairs is weak - water in the house was cut off during swimming pool maintenance - downstairs toilet is uncomfortable to sit on and awkward flush mechanism I recommend this villa and would possibly stay again. I will definitely return to the Rubicon Marina area which I liked a lot. If this villa gets a king size bed I would definitely return. Area recommendations - excellent Indian (Mumbai Masala) and also, the Italian as you arrive at the marina is also excellent and had yummy pasta including gluten-free.

Brilliant villa! We booked villa 8 (Villa Barque) directly via the website and couldn't have been happier. The communication both before and during our trip was great, the villa was perfectly located, perfectly sized and perfectly private. The marina is just a short walk as is the well stocked supermarket. There is a relatively new small up-market shopping area just outside the marina as you head to Playa Blanca (which is also within easy and scenic walking distance). Also a special mention for Franzi who handled all our communication and questions with a rapidity rarely seen nowadays. However, Franzi went really above and beyond to help us celebrate a special anniversary during our visit arranging a few special items for us - almost like having a personal concierge. In fact, every one of the staff we interacted with were great and all only when necessary. Nowadays, finding great holiday villas in perfect locations with a great management team is fraught with risk and challenges but I can safely say I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Villa 8 to my closest family and friends.

The location is great for the marina, great bars and restaurants. The villa is very private , with a gated entrance, beautiful pool - which is well looked after throughout your stay by the friendly pool man. I would strongly advise to pay extra for the pool to be heated. This is our 3rd year at Villa de la Marina, I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Playa Blanca ,it ticks all of our boxes for a relaxing holiday. The team , lead by Manuel are very helpful ,should you need anything before or during your stay.

Fantastic Villa, very secure and private with a very nice pool. 5 minutes walk to the shops and the restaurants at the marina. 15 minutes walk to the beach and about 20 to playa Blanca. We stayed 7 nights and my one complaint would be that there was no internal cleaning service even though the pool was cleaned at least 3 times. Will definitely return though!
