Mangrove Residences Mactan

Great location! It's clean, has hot water, and air conditioning. There's a cafe and a spa downstairs, which is really convenient. A 7/11 and currency exchange are just 10 minutes away! The only downside is the AC is quite noisy.

Oh my goodness, the air conditioning was incredibly loud, and there were roosters crowing outside from 2 AM – it was absolutely maddening! We checked out as fast as we could after just one night. The front desk wouldn't even hold our luggage, and it wasn't cheap either. I barely got any sleep.

This hotel is perfect for a night or two, or as a starting or ending point for a trip to the Philippines. All the necessary infrastructure and services are nearby, including McDonald's, 7-Eleven, and a ton of other options. There's a cafe just 20 meters to the right of the hotel exit that offers all sorts of food and drinks. However, there are no suitable or comfortable swimming beaches here. If you don't mind the number of ships and the port life, and just want to use the time to sunbathe, then it's fine. Otherwise, everything at the hotel is great for a short stay, especially for a group. It has everything you need. I recommend it.

The room was spacious and very clean, and the staff were incredibly kind. I'm already planning to stay here again on my next trip. The kitchen was also a huge plus!

The hotel's location is quite convenient, about a ten-minute walk to Mactan New Town. There's McDonald's and Jollibee nearby, and downstairs there's a massage place and a Japanese ramen shop. The soundproofing in the room isn't great, and it's too close to the road, so the sound of car exhausts wakes you up very early in the morning. The shower in the room is ridiculous – it's either icy cold or scalding hot, with no in-between. The old air conditioning unit makes quite a bit of noise.

The floor felt gritty, and the location was just okay. The cleanliness was subpar, and there weren't enough towels. It's really just a place to crash for the night, nothing more. There's nothing special about it, and I don't have very fond memories. The air conditioning was also incredibly noisy, but the internet TV was a nice touch.
