"I had an amazing stay at the ecology cabin! The service was top-notch, and the place was absolutely beautiful. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The cabin was surrounded by stunning natural scenery, and I loved the peaceful and serene atmosphere. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. The owner's hospitality and the cabin's charm made my stay truly unforgettable. 5 stars and can't wait to come back!"

We had a wonderful stay at the Chalet Tropical. My friend and I stayed for four night recently. We booked a family room, however the bed arrangement was not the most suitable, so we moved into a family bungalow. Comfortable rooms with a Waller fall and dipping pool in front of each room. Great location in Las Galeras, with walking distance of beaches and businesses I town. The breakfast (numerous options were available and all delicious) was pre-selected the night before and delivered to your room at requested time. A nice bar and restaurant are located by main pool and pool table well. The hotel arranged very affordable tours to Playa Fronton and we rented ATV’s for excursion to 5 beaches, including Playa Rincón. The best part of the hotel was the wonder and friendly staff, especially Charlyne at the front desk and Sarah the owner. Irene at the bar as also fun and friendly. Hope to return.

Great place to discover the best beaches of Samana. Breakfest is awsome, I recomed to choose the Dominican option. Personel of the hotel gave us a great treatment. My chalet was very beautifull with private pool. A lot of restaurants 5 minutes away from hotel walking.

Chalet Tropical Pool Bar-Restaurant: We have been lucky enough to stay and the amazing Chalet Tropical for many years and enjoyed trips of a life time with Sarah. Sarah and William have opened a very exiting space next to their cozy chalets- the Chalet Tropical Pool Bar-Restaurant! Here you can enjoy a tropical cocktail or a cold beer while your family lounges in the two level pool! We dined four times at the new restaurant and were treated to wonderful Dominican dishes. The oxtail stew I had was a favourite , Sharon loved the coconut shrimp! Our chef prepared an amazing salsa that was fresh and delicious. In the back of this wonderful space a game of pool can be had, there is also a big TV for sports etc. If your a guest of the Chalet or just in the village looking for a fun afternoon, drop buy you will be glad you did!

What a dream stay! This eco lodge was everything I hoped for. The property is a stunning tropical oasis full of lush greenery and palms. The chalets themselves are so beautifully designed and spacious. I'm always nervous about beds but the bed and pillows were soft and comfortable and I had no issues sleeping at all. The only points of consideration are that the wooden stairs are a bit steep and if you have mobility/joint issues, this can be a concern. Fortunately, the chalets also have beds downstairs if you can't climb steps. Our chalets included a kitchen, dining table, grill, a hammock and a private pool. There's multiple little dining/lounging areas. There's a restaurant on-site as well for convenience, otherwise you're a short 10 minute walk away from the main *****. It was the most perfect stay, romantic and beautiful! Highly recommend their ATV beach excursion as well- it was the highlight of our DR trip! Can't wait to visit again with friends!

Love this place . I think the chalets are like little hobbit houses. Las Galeras is charming Reception mostly very helpful apart from unfounded fear of us walking home from dinner in the village. Why 4 rather than 5 - restaurant truly awful and the odd glitch with the room

This was one of the best, most unique stays we've ever had. The chalets are each so beautiful and private, like your own little oasis, but very convenient, short walk to shops, restaurants and Playita Beach. The breakfast is amazing- so beautiful and delicious, and the new on-site restaurant is likewise idyllic, in a stunning, lush, peaceful setting with affordable, authentic, delicious Dominican food. But most of all, the owner, Sarah, and the staff- Charlyne, the driver for transfers and excursions- Marcos, and everyone there was exceptional- incredibly caring, hospitable, passionate about people and what they do, and thoughtful. They helped us put together transfers, excursions, insider tips about the city, food, everything was done with such care, magnanimity and convenience. Stay or visit Chalet Tropical if you can- you will leave full- with both good food and gratitude for such an amazing experience.

This is our third time staying here. We love it, for the peacefulness, and for the attentiveness of the owner and staff. We did have a few issues with water in our villa, but because of recent rains and flooding, it really wasn’t a big deal and when our water went out, we simply informed the staff and they took care of it. Some of the things in the kitchen area could be replaced. The greka was broken so it overflowed every time we made coffee, one of the drawers with all of the utensils was missing a handle, and the toaster oven was broken, but these were minor inconveniences to cooking. It will not deter us from continuing to return yearly. Everything else was perfect. This was the first time we stayed in the bigger villa and we brought friends. We had plenty of space for everyone and it was wonderfully fun and relaxing. They are currently building an on-site restaurant and large pool area in the front of the property so it will be even more beautiful and we are excited to return to see the improvements.

The family villa was gorgeous and well put together with its own pool. For some reason we did end up loosing power “region wide” which the hotel has no fault over for nearly 8 hrs. Pretty much all night. The wooden villa was not as hot compared to the brick one I heard about. Regardless, the very next morning I met the owner to which he treated us two complimentary breakfast which was very polite of him to do. He was there since the day prior which does show he cares for his clients and property which is also very well kept. Regardless of the power issue my family and I felt safe and secure and did not have any other issues.

What you see is what you get. The pics are a true image of the property. Attended by the owners. If you want quiet, reserved, clean you can't go wrong here

The hotel is beautiful, excellent concept and the little chalets with their private pools, private garden with hammocks are a great convenience if you are looking for a serene, relaxing stay in a green - environmentally friendly location. However, as great as our experience was and the beautiful property, there a few areas of improvement that ownership should take into consideration: 1- Bathroom privacy: the current design - layout doesn’t not allow for much privacy while showering. Anyone using the stairs or standing on the second floor has a clear view of anyone showering. 2- Mosquitoes: given the property is surrounded by beautiful greenery, there is a lot of mosquitoes on the premises and inside the chalets. Ownership should consider daily fumigation to mitigate the abundance of mosquitoes which can make a great experience a miserable one for those of us allergic to mosquitoes. Other than these two items, I highly recommend the hotel and would welcome everyone to try it. I would definitely return.

The rustic chalet had air-conditioning and hot water, as well as a sense of being natural cottage. The food was very good and the chef pretty much cooked. Whatever you wanted to enjoy & service was right on. Surrounded by vegetational flowers and plants it was t with a pool and a running cascade. It was all totally private I only wish that the private rock pool in front of the chalet and heated water. I’m sure that’s not a problem in the summer months.

This was our first trip to the DR and we wanted to avoid the large all-inclusive resorts. My husband and I stayed 6 nights with our 14 year old daughter. We stayed in an independent villa with a small plunge pool. We flew into Santa Domingo and hired a diver, Marcos, who Sarah arranged. I would highly recommend doing this. We was an excellent, safe driver and spoke perfect English, but also was very kind in letting me practice my Spanish. He was very tolerant in listening to and answering my husband’s multitude questions. The food at the hotel was very good. We also enjoyed having a kitchen to cook our own breakfasts as needed. It is a short walk to a very lovely beach with calm waters (Playita). A short walk to restaurants and shops if you need to buy groceries or essentials. One day we took an ATV ride to Playa Rincon and Playa Bremmen. I rode with Alfredo from the hotel and my husband and daughter rode on another ATV. Would also recommend doing this day trip. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly, professional, and kind. It would serve you well to know a little Spanish, but all the staff were very patient with my limited Spanish. We felt very safe in the hotel, in the town of Las Galeras, walking to the beach and also at all the beaches. Sarah, the owner was a delight to work with. I didn’t catch everyone’s names, but also enjoyed Alfredo and Luis Miguel. Beautiful grounds and very friendly people everywhere we went.
