Ona Alborada

I stayed in an apartment that looked like it was recently refurbished. Great apartment and well set out. I wanted a quiet location and this fit the bill perfectly.

The whole place is being redone after a fire took out the restaurant. The apartments that have been redone spacious comfy also cosy like being like Home. The pool is so lovely enough some beds for everyone . Also the lifeguards are amazing! The staff are good specially the one that's been there for years. But at the moment they are redoing it and will make it back to its normal self that used to be years ago. They have plans to have a restaurant's and things like that. There's lots of restaurants nearby the town.

Ive Been before the fire, refurbishment atm so only a select few rooms open. New rooms are lovely. Always clean here and friendly staff. I'm going back next year, hopefully the old bar will be newly completed and entertainment on again. It would be great if all inclusive was back as its stopping a lot of regular visitors from booking here and they're going elsewhere

My partner and I have just returned from a 3 week holiday at the Albarada. This holiday was booked in 2020 but because of covid restrictions we have just taken it. After reading some reviews it was with some trepidation that we decided to go and we were pleasantly surprised. Yes the apartments are dated but are very spacious and spotlessly clean. Sheets and towels changed frequently and a powerful shower with plenty of hot water. Also anything we asked for, kettle, toaster, more pillows etc were supplied promptly and with a smile. The A I was not available but we were able to get drinks and tasty snacks at the pool bar between 10am and 6pm. The salt water pool was enormous and yes they do empty, scrub it and refill it every Thursday evening. No shortage of sun beds. The best thing about the holiday was the lovely friendly staff. From reception, house keeping and pool staff they always acknowledge you. A special thank you to Lorenzo at reception who helped us many times during our stay. This was a budget holiday and we had good value for our money. Would I go back, yes when the renovations are finished. Th e area is very quiet but there are some nice restaurants and shops there. If you fancy a bit more life the buses into Los Cristianos and Playa del America are frequent and cheap. 3 euros return.

Staying here at the moment, the pool is open to all, kids 2 euro a day, it is bedlam! The kids inside hotel, running up and down corridors screaming, chasing each other, so no chance of any peace! We've stayed here many times in the past, but it's equivalent to a 1 star hotel at the moment, they are having work done, so building noise also. Such a shame one of our favourite hotels had gone downhill so quickly.

To start this is my opinion of the hotel and my experience I have had with the hotel. We originally booked direct with the hotel for the 29/03/2020 and obviously from the 26th no one was going anywhere due to lockdown. I contacted the hotel and was offered a full refund or a voucher to use another time and I chose the voucher, The booking was for seven days in the new suite all inclusive which they had done as a tester for what was planned to happen to the rest of the hotel with refurbishment. Well two lots of management later and two years on my voucher was still honoured but at the minute no all inclusive so instead of seven days the hotel gave me ten days in the suite self catering. If you have been here before and want to return the only thing that is different is there is no all inclusive (YET) but the bar is open for paying customers and the refurb is starting 04/07/2022 after a lot of red tape. I personally love the place due to the massive pool (which is open and cleaned on a Thursday) and the fact your not going to get anywhere nearer the sea than here for the price. If you have been here before and know what to expect then book, It now needs to be filled with people which is good for the hotel and also for the town itself, Don't book if your just going to go round taking pictures of the bad points.

You can book the hotel but they cancel reservation with no money back , they offer voucher and they say that are new Hoyle owner and have no informations how you paid for your booking so you can have voucher as gesture of good will or nothing. Then restaurant is not working so all inclusive became room only. Voucher is not possible to redeem as all dates are fully booked and in fact Hotel is empty and in closure . Do not book it. We lost about £1000

Due to arrive 28th August....received email 1 week before to state all inclusive closed amongst other things such as housekeeping (*** especially in a PANDEMIC!!!!!) We paid premium for all inclusive for one...no offer of refund ON this aspect. I then emailed to confirm whether they are actually even still open as it sounded non convincing....no response.....emailed again for them to respond will be fully closed!!! Thanks for ample notice (3-4 days) on what was due to be en enjoyable family holiday. For me to have to ask for clarification on this was appalling, as you should have just stated the hotel would be closed in the first place. We could have turned up and have had to had found other accommodation 2 days later with zero notice!! You had been so helpful in the build up to the holiday it was such a shame to be let down just a few days before our break (we had to find another hotel altogether). I understandably asked for a full refund as I had to fond another hotel, which they stated would take a few weeks....I gave benefit of the doubt given your helpfulness so far.....yet I'm till waiting 2 months later....no response via email or social media. What else should I do? Just visit upon my next visit? I fully appreciate some hotels might be struggling but this situation was completely beyond my control and unfair. Perhaps if your hotel made more of an effort to respond, in an open and honest way, I would be open to being more flexible on how long a refund takes but the fact you are clearly advertising on social media that you are open just takes the piss quite frankly, and unless resolved quickly, you will be visited next time we arrive for the refund you have previously promised. Please avoid ....its not worth the agro
