The first room had two single beds shoved together. We asked for a double bed “cama matrimonial” and we’re given a second room that was completely inacceptable. The door was broken, it wouldn’t shut properly, the shower door sealant was half off, the toilet would flush, the sink wouldn’t drain, and the soap dispenser was broken. The front desk arranged for us to have an acceptable room which was an upgrade and completely functional. However it took 2 room changes and when they moved our things they tossed a half bottle of premium red wine. And to be fair, they offered a second bottle of decent wine, but why toss our wine?

Basic hotel, cheap, and somewhat dated, but all I needed was a place to sleep while my husband was in hospital close by. Was clean, bathroom was spoiled by the toilet seat being at an angle and shifted suddenly when sat upon. Rather noisy, but city centre, so it came with the territory. Staff were friendly but fairly casual. My main problem was I initially booked for one night, as I had the offer of a room attached to the hospital, but I didn't know when that would be available to me. I explained the situation in my somewhat broken Spanish, and was offered another couple of nights at the hotel. I agreed to one more night, and paid for it. However a couple of hours later (and a couple of hours after hotel check out time) I was contacted by the hospital and offered a room, which was perfect for me. I told Hotel Valencia what had happened, and I would be checking out immediately. I'd expected a refund or at least a part refund as I hadn't stayed for the second night, although the room had been serviced that morning (still with the toilet seat from hell!) But no, no offer of a refund as a sign of goodwill just a casual goodbye. I realise technically they were within their rights to keep my payment but I was disappointed that they didn't waive my bill in view of my very stressful circumstances. Very disappointed at their attitude.

We stayed in the hotel for a few nights before a cruise. It’s in an ideal location. 200 metres from the Canteras beach and 400 metres from Santa Catalina bus station which is just beside the cruise terminal. The commercial centre is 600 metres away. There’s a lot of restaurants, bars, shops and supermarkets in the immediate surrounding area. A taxi to the old town is 6 Euros. Rooms are modern, clean, have a free safe, mini fridge, complimentary water & toiletries, and a nice bathroom with powerful shower. A quiet room coupled with comfortable beds and great latex pillows meant we got a good night’s sleep. We prepaid breakfast which offered high quality cereals, cold cuts, cheeses, pastries, breads, fruit and some hot options together with juices and coffee. The hotel has left luggage lockers and a courtesy toilet and shower facilities which we appreciated as we had a late flight. Staff were excellent: professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

We booked this for a 7 night stay via ***********. It was selected as was in a convenient location for our needs. There are positives and negatives: Positives: ＞ Polite, knowledgeable and friendly reception team available 24/7. ＞ Clean room and common areas ＞ Cleaners in alternate days, (albeit early) - so we put the ”Do not Disturb”notice on the door. ＞ Large, comfortable bed ＞ Excellent shower, plenty of hot water. ＞ Air conditioning (but we did not need to use it). ＞ Good kitchen facilities, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster, coffee machine, kettle. The apartment block entrance way doesn't look appealing but the hallway is very modern. Some rooms i believe have been renovated but mine room 103 was a bit jaded in the kitchen and mixed tiles were used in the bathroom. The location is great for cafes and snack bars, a long walkway straight outside.
My room had a small balcony where you could hang washing, there are 2 laundrettes just a few yards away.
You can just see the sea from the balcony which is moments away. There is a very wide promenade for about a mile along the broad beach.
The kitchen had two sets of plates, cups and bowls and cutlery. The hotplate is modern and heats up extremely quickly. There is a good sized fridge but mine was dripping onto the floor as it was iced up.
The receptionist is nice but only speaks Spanish but was able to help me with my taxi back to the Airport.
I thoroughly enjoyed my 5 nights there and would stay there again. There is some street noise during the night especially on Friday. There is a wall mounted colour TV in front of the two single beds.

Beautiful Room, Excellent location, overlooking the port and central square. Breakfast was extra at 10 euros. Hop On Hop Off buses have two different stops nearby. local shops and restaurants within 5 minute walk. 10 minute walk to the beach. Tiny pool on rooftop, large rooftop for sunbathing and sitting, with bar service after 4pm. Recommended would go again. Cruise terminal within walking distance.

Modern hotel set on a side street just 100m from the excellent beach & promenade. We stated 7 nights on a bed & breakfast basis. The room was large with very nice bathroom and included tea/coffee facilities, air con and safe. The double bed was two large singles together which is now unfortunately more common throughout Europe but we loved the crisp white cotton sheets and the two different types of pillow. Our room was on the 5th floor to the front over looking the street but we had minimal noise. The hotel was immaculately clean in all areas and we had fresh towels each day. There was a sun terrace on the top floor with modern sun loungers available. Breakfast was sufficient with an acceptable level of choice but I would have liked the three hot choices to be cooked more often as they can sit in a hot tray for a prolonged period. All of the staff were excellent in manner and efficiency. The new shopping centre at the end of the promenade is within walking distance and there is a second shopping centre available 1000m at the opposite end of the hotel street from the beach where the cruise liners dock. This a great value hotel in an outstanding location with fantastic access to the promenade (flat location) and beach, highly recommended for a winter break, we shall return.

The hotel is situated centrally at the top of Gran Canaria and as such has staggering beautiful panoramas from both its rooms and public areas. It is in a unique and unforgettable position close to a large number of well sign posted walks (most will need either a car or taxi to access) The hotel has been recently renovated and modernised to a high standard. Our superior room was in the original building, was spotlessly clean, well furnished and quiet. The view from its very large balcony was stunning) Be prepared for rapid weather variations as cloud blows in and out, temperatures can drop dramatically and it can be both sunny and hot and foggy and cold on the same day! Service in the restaurant can be erratic although the food quality is very good. The Spa is quite basic and, we felt, somewhat over priced. This hotel is ‘an experience’ and amongst the most memorable, for good reasons, we have ever stayed in.

GGuest UserI am happy to my stay with Secrotel Hotel Praque. I book it after checking reviews from other travelers comment. Yes, price is good and to it's location, it is close to shopping centre, restaurants and supermarkets. Staff are helpful. Buffet breakfast is good. Breakfast restaurant is on the top level of this hotel, we can enjoy stunning ocean view and sunlight while having breakfast. It is bonus. However, a minor thing I like to share is during busy morning especially when restaurant is full house, it always running out of coffee cups, juice glasses as well as cereal bowls. I cannot have to wait a long while for these 3 times from my 5 days breakfast. Maybe hotel can put some signage to suggest guests be eco-friendly minded to re-use glass, cup and bowl when refill. As I have seen some have 5 -6 cups and glass on a table. Bed is comfortable, room is clean with basic things you need. Yes, no electric kettle, no slippers as standard 3 stars hotel do. So, I have no complaint. There has no more noise from constructions, as this is my concern after reading other travelers comments in the pass. So I think all is done. Hotel locates next to taxi, bus station but not close to beach area. It's no problem to me for this winter travel. I am very happy for all. Definitely recommend it to others.

GGuest UserMy partner and I checked in on the 29th, in a comfort suite, room 206. When we arrived, staff were friendly and helpful, but the staff were not the issue. As we approached our room, the hallways, stairs, and particularly the mirror decorations were all dirty, setting the tone immediately. We got to our room, and quickly were disappointed. Although the facilities worked, with the exception of the cold shower, the cleanliness of the room was shocking. What we had been promised was not what we received. From the marks on the walls, to the mould in the shower, the entire place was just poor. We informed the receptionist, who was polite, and he told us the cleaner would do a once over. Even after this, we found that the only thing that had really been cleaned was the inside of the fridge. We were told that the black mould in the shower was not actually dirt, and neither was the marks over the walls, they were just ‘wear and tear’. We checked out early, and we’re genuinely shocked at our experience. I would say the reviews do not do the place justice from our experience.

GGuest UserFabulous hotel, cannot recommend it highly enough. Great location, just one block from santa Catalina park, over looking the port and only a few minutes walk to the beach. Rooms are stunning and very well appointed, lovely big showers, plenty of hanging space etc. The only slight improvement that could be made is the air conditioning, it's not the greatest and my particular room was particularly warm but reception did give me an extra card so I could leave the electricity on when I left the room and this helped a lot, it took about 24 hours but eventually the temperature came down sufficiently. The roof top bar has some stunning views and is a great place to relax with the drink, the bar staff are great, helpful and friendly an make a pretty good mojito too. The roof top solarium on the other side of the roof could do with a little improvement in terms of furniture but the view is still great and the little pool is a great place to cool your feet after a busy day sight seeing. Breakfast is of very good quality, small selection of hot items but lots of fruit, pastries, cereals, juices etc etc, again the staff here are all friendly and helpful, as they are on reception too. This is a city center hotel and there is no view from many of the windows, mine overlooked a neighbouring apartment block (only a few feet away across a slim courtyard) some look out into an internal courtyard, but the staff, the location and the size and quality of the rooms definitely make up for this and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great base to explore this beautiful island.

GGuest UserThis was a one night stay before picking up the cruise ship Azamara Onward. To get to check-in, you have to go up one storey from ground level by climbing a fancy set of entrance steps. There is a 1970s ”baggage lift” to the rhs, and if you have a disability you can use that, but it has no sides, and moves at a snails pace whilst your finger has to stay on the button. This lack in investment speaks volumes about this hotel. I was given a superior room due to loyalty scheme status, but it was nothing special. The air con was noisy, and the room lacked charging points. The mattress wasn't that great, and the bedding was musty. Dinner in the 23rd floor restaurant was a farce. The restaurant was fairly full with cruise guests on a dinner package that included a buffet and drinks. Rather than allowing us to pay for the same buffet, we were forced to choose from a very limited overpriced restaurant menu. The food was disgusting. The extremely processed food ”burger” was still raw in the middle; the hake was aslso still raw in the middle and both had to be sent back to the kitchen. They couldn't even cook the chips. My travel companion said that breakfast in the morning was even more of a disaster - not enough seats for the guests, nor enough food out. Would I stay here again? Well, I used Marriott points, so it was free. If I was paying for it, I'd want my money back.....

PPughCheap and cheerful budget hotel. Pillows are a little strange. Thin sheets (good for the hot climate). Beds not the most comfortable but not the worst. No AC just a fan that’s a bit tired. And the view from the frosted window is a bit depressing. Tv is just Spanish tv. Staff are very friendly and most speak good English. Good for a short stay but I wouldn’t recommend for more than a few nights. Didn’t try the breakfast (reasonably priced) and the bar is only open for that. There are other bars nearby open till small hours though. Fairly safe area but not the prettiest. A 1 min walk to either beach and lots of restaurants. No water produced in the rooms or fridges.

GGuest UserThe apartment is very well located, especially if you are going to carnavals, because in the same square the scene where the most significant events of these parties are held. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. You have to shower mili style and one or the morning and anotherfor the night, because I already tell you that it doesn't give anything. In the reception we were attended Don Ladies, one of them, the oldest was a little, quite dry, the truth, With the pleasantness of the Canary .... the other woman was quite more pleasant and little more, in the school there is a message for two, in which we were ours there were saccharose, there are many apartments that do not have it. A good place to spend a few days, but not to go on holidays.
