Mahogany Hotel Residence & Spa

I would say that it is a decent establishment without any wows with a beautiful beach which may be small but which is still very pretty. For the spa, you have to reserve no free access, even hamam... what really shocked me was the number of cats in the restaurant! Disgusting 🤮 it’s everywhere… the rooms are spacious with kitchen on the terrace, it’s cool 👍

Hotel a little aging. The rooms are spacious but do not offer anything that could justify such a high price. As for breakfast, €29 per person for a buffet is also excessive.

The hotel is very well located, the restaurant perfect in every way, but the reception staff and the hotel manager have a rare smile and a non-existent commercial gesture. We spent a week for a professional conference in this very pleasant place. On the third day of our stay, two couples of us had an unwanted visitor in our rooms, during our time in the shower or just for a photo of the ***** eclipse, about a quarter of an hour. Two bank cards and €200 for a couple, and a pair of gold and diamond earrings in another room were stolen. We reported the thefts to reception after checking that we hadn't just misplaced these items. We were not taken seriously at all, neither by the employees nor later by the hotel manager. We did not incriminate anyone, our rooms on the ground floor and on the first floor were easily accessible from the terrace and balcony. We were obviously inconvenient and were asked to file a complaint without any compassion. Fortunately the police were more attentive and recorded our complaints. When we returned from the police station, the director told us that the room doors at the time we received these fraudulent visits had only been opened by our own magnetic cards. In short, we stole from ourselves just to poison the existence of this very nice gentleman and to waste three hours at the police station! Of course no taxi was offered to us, we managed like adults! The couple whose payment cards were stolen were debited in businesses not far from the hotel just after the theft. When the director received us, or rather met us in a busy place, he told us that he had looked for the first business on the internet and that he had not found a store with that name. Here again we probably invented this story… The bank has proof! No attention afterwards, no word of apology for the disappearance of a piece of jewelry given at the birth of my son. If we refocus on the hotel, the staff parades through your rooms all day, one to make the bed, one to make the towels, another to check if it has been done and so on. . This little world enters your home, because yes we are at home since we have rented the room, without knocking, and since you do not have a label on the door to ask not to disturb, if you grant yourself a nap or a shower, even with the door blocked by a chair, this staff enters, at the risk of finding you in an embarrassing outfit... you have to shout to stop these intrusions into your room... The elevators were broken for five days out of seven We left this site without regrets, we were victims but for the management and the reception we were above all a beautiful star.

This hotel is only 4* for the price: €200 per night + €26 for breakfast for 1 person. The reservation stated "extra large double bed". In the end, 2 single beds and impossible to change. In addition, the Mahogany pavilion is wedged between 2 other buildings, so the only view from the room is on the building in front which is close and acts as a screen… The room is very basic and poorly insulated. While the room had been free since 7:30 a.m., cleaning had still not been done at 5 p.m. and the maids came to clean at 5:20 p.m. when the room was occupied... Inadmissible! Finally, the evening buffet (at €39, drinks not included) offers "community" food without any finesse and with reheated dishes that are often cold... In the end, a very poor value for money

Nous étions a l'hôtel Mahogany Residence et Spa faisant partie de l'hôtel La Créole...Il s'agit du même endroit et il n'y a aucune différence ou avantages d'être dans l'un ou l'autre des endroits . Nous avions une chambre équipé d'une cuisinette au balcon. Chambre propre et sobre mais qui manque réellement de rangement. Le lit est confortable. Notre balcon avait une vue vers la cour intérieur pas très chic mais nous étions tranquille. Points positifs ; L'Hôtel est très bien situé près du village Le Gosier ou l'accès a l'ensemble de Grande Terre et Basse Terre est facile ,par contre il vous faut absolument loué une voiture pour avoir une facilité a voir les principaux attraits de l'île. Les routes sont belles et il est assez facile de s'y retrouvé. Il y a quelques resto. autour de l'hôtel et plusieurs compagnies de location de voitures. La plage est jolie mais pas la plus belle de l'île . Les locaux ont un accès illimité a la plage et quelquefois elle devient plus difficile a fréquenté. Le soir il y a quelques spectacles mais les boissons au bar sont dispendieux ( De $ 12 a $ 20 CAN.) pour une consommation. Points négatifs Nous avons été victime d'une coupure d'eau majeur pendant 4 jours ou l'on devait " Flusher " la toilette avec des chaudières d'eau. Aucune eau chaude pour la douche. L'Hôtel n'a offert aucune compensation a la clientèle...pas même une consommation au bar ou un déjeuner au restaurant car nous n'avions rien d'inclus....Décevant. Autres point négatif c'est le peu de sécurité sur le site avec les jeunes du secteur qui viennent fumé leur pot ,écouté de la musique et être bruyant en prenant les chaises de plage réservé a la clientèle et d'être carrément sur les installation de l'hôtel.

Les plus: - la localisation - la chambre spacieuse avec cuisine - propreté de l'hôtel et des chambres - belle piscine - petite plage sympa - soin massage face a la mer de qualite Les moins: - cuisine sous équipée ( pas de gros couteau, planche a découper 10x10,...) - le service de nettoyage commence très tôt (autolaveuse qui passe près de la chambre a 8 heure) - restaurant: repas dîner a 41 euro par personne honteux rapport qualité prix (exemple: plat froid a 21 heure) - plage fréquentée par des personnes hors hotel (personnes fumant du tabac rigolot...) alors que l'on a interdit a mon épouse de vapoter en terrasse exterieure - excursion vers l'île aux biches laissant a désirer: je ne parle pas de la météo qui n'était pas bonne mais de l'organisation (peut etre annuler des le début ou revoir le circuit en fonction de la meteo, moins de temps dans la mangrove et de suite aller en mer) - petit déjeuner a 29 euro!!! Pas grand chose a rajouter...
