Nestled in Lundin Links, the Old Manor Hotel is a charming property with a picturesque setting. However, its potential was marred by a series of minor shortcomings during our recent stay. As we arrived at the hotel, we noticed that the property appeared somewhat "underwhelming" and not the luxury experience mentioned by other reviews. The staff, though polite, were unable to make up for the slow service that characterized our time there. Our room was modern but had a few issues. The lighting was inadequate, creating a dim atmosphere, and there was a noticeable presence of a small amount of mold around the bath, raising concerns about cleanliness. To add to these problems, the remote control for the TV was missing, and the wooden balcony, which could have been a lovely feature, had limited light due to the surrounding trees and a noticeable lack of cleanliness. Despite these problems, we did enjoy the breathtaking views and reasonably priced drinks during a quiet afternoon spent relaxing and soaking in the beautiful scenery. The stunning vistas from the restaurant were a particular highlight, setting the scene for an enjoyable dinner. The steaks were absolutely delicious, but, once again, the service proved to be slow. Breakfast was another disappointment, as the vegetarian haggis advertised on the menu was unavailable for the vegetarian breakfast option – a detail only communicated to me when the meal was served. Similarly, the standard breakfast lacked bacon. In summary, the Old Manor Hotel in Lundin Links offers a spectacular setting and delightful views, but many small problems ultimately spoiled our stay. From the tired decor to the numerous issues with my room and the lack of communication regarding breakfast options, the hotel failed to meet our expectations. While the delicious steaks and picturesque vistas were noteworthy, they were not enough to redeem the overall experience.
