My grandson, my friend Alice and myself stayed at The Newmarket Inn for 3 nights as we thought it was only a short ride to Brighton.. On arriving looks a bit run down but realised that it had only been open for 4 weeks and was still trying to get the Garden sorted. The rooms were tidy and the beds clean, bathrooms were clean and the showers were quite powerful, I chose to have a bath as i only have a shower at home. On arriving we asked Chris the Manager if we could catch a bus into Brighton and the bus stop was outside .Myself and Alice had bus passes and my grandson was charged £3.30 that was great took us about 25 minutes. Had a lovely afternoon on the Beach and got the bus back. The down side is when you get off on the other side of the road we diced with death crossing the busy A27. It does not make sense the walking trail on the downs crosses you over there and it is very dangerous !!!!! The Newmarket do not do evening meals but we were going out anyway and on our third night we had a Take Away .We sat at our breakfast table and the manager was very helpful and provided us with plates and cutlery. The breakfasts on the 3 mornings were very very good with cereals pastries and a full English ,toast, tea and coffee...WHAT MORE DID WE NEED. We enjoyed Brighton very busy even though it was mid week, loads of young people loved people watching . What we did forget that we were not able to get the rooms serviced but just ask at reception and they will accomodate you.
